This episode starts out with Ren and Stimpy hiking out to the woods for some rest and relaxation. Once they get to where they are gonna stay Ren asks for some food and Stimpy gives him food pills instead. Ren settles for the steak pills. The second order of business is for Stimpy to persuade Ren to go skinny dipping. Ren finally agrees and reluctantly gets in. Unknown to them, Old Man Hunger watches intently form the bushes and decides to join them. After that unfortunate incident Ren and Stimpy return to their camp where Ren tries to build a fire while Stimpy goes out to collect berries. Ren ends up burning himself and gets some help from Old Man Hunger who stamps him out. They turn in for the night and sleep outside. While out in the open Ren gets attacked by mosquitos. Ren, then has a sudden thirst for water and goes for the lake for a drink. Stimpy stops him and tells him that becuse of the beavers living in the water, he is in danger of getting beaver fever. He offers some clean water instead but unbenownced to both of them there's a beaver in the water Stimpy gave. Ren then turns into a beaver.moreless
  • This episode made me laugh from here to eternity.

This is got to be one of the best Ren and Stimpy episodes ever. First Stimpy takes Ren camping, but Ren thinks that Stimpy's eediotniss has gone to far. During the camp bad things keep happening to Ren and Stimpy doesn't get hurt at all(This is why Ren's my favorite character). Then at the end of The Great Outdoors, Stimpy gives Ren water that a beaver was swiming in and so Ren turns into a beaver(Stimpy if you do one more bad thing to Ren I'll...)Anyway Ren gets his revenge when he slaps Stimpy with his tail. The next one was The Cat that Laid the Golden Hairballs, which was also a funny episode.moreless

    • When the mosquitos drank Ren's blood, they sounded like men, but in true science, male mosquitos drink pollen water neater and females drink blood.

    • In the tsetse mosquito scene, there are 2 other goofs: A)Ren and Stimpy have never lived in the forest. B)Ren didn't die from the mosquitoes sucking his blood, which would actually happened.

  • QUOTES (5)

    • Ren: This outdoor stuff sure makes you thirsty. (scoops up some lake water) Ah cool, fresh virgin spring water.
(goes to take a sip and Stimpy bats it away)
Stimpy: Sweet lord no! You can't drink that water, Ren. Beavers do their business in that water! If you drink it you could get beaver fever!
Ren: (scowls at Stimpy) Beaver fever! Would you mind telling me what I am supposed to drink then?
Stimpy: Don't worry Ren I always bring a supply of clean, pure, unpolluted water.
Ren: (takes the water from Stimpy) Ahh thanks Stimpy. You saved my...AHHHHHH (Looks at the water tank to see a beaver floating in it)

    • Mosquito #1: Oh man what a feast!
Mosquito #2: Ohhh I'll never do that again!
Mosquito #3: Oh I'm stuffed. (Burp.)
Mosquito #1: I don't know about you guys but I'm gonna lay me some eggs
Mosquito #2: I hear ya man.
Stimpy: Man did I sleep good. How'd you sleep Ren?
Ren: (Covered in mosquito bites.) Uhhh, I slept all right.

    • (After the skinny-dipping scene, Stimpy decides to forage for food.)
Stimpy: I'm off to pick berries, Ren!
Ren: (sitting with his back against a log, upset)Yeah, yeah.
Stimpy: Will you light the fire while I'm gone?
Ren: WHAT!? Do I have to do everything around here?
Stimpy: You know I'm lost without you!
(Stimpy leaves and Ren walks to the fire pit)
Ren: How am I supposed to light this thing?
Stimpy: (off-screen) Just rub two twigs topgether!
      Ren: (confused)Twigs? What are twigs?
(He finds two squirrels and rubs them together in the hopes of making a fire.)

    • Old Man Hunger : Teehehehehe! Skinny-dipping? I just love skinny-dipping!
(Old Man Hunger runs out from behind the bush. The next scene shows him naked with a tree's leaves covering up his private part)
Old Man Hunger : Hey fellers!
(Ren and Stimpy turn to see Old Man Hunger. The scene shows Old Man's behind with a band-aid sticking to the cheeks. He, than, runs over and jumps into the lake. He hits the lake with flat splash.)
Old Man Hunger : How ya fellers doing? Beautiful day, isn't it? Boy, it sure is nice to find other guys who are comfortable with their nakedity like me! Say, ya know who'd like this? Ma! Hey Ma!
(Scene switches over to Mrs. Buttloaves in the bush, naked. But it only shows from the very top of her breast to her head. The wolf howl sound effect from Firedogs returns)
Mrs. Buttloaves (Ma) : Hello men!
(Ren and Stimpy's eyes go big with fear)

    • (Ren is swimming in a pile of hairballs after learning thier value.)
Ren: They're wet! They're vile! They're stinky! But I love them!
