The Truth Hurts / Jumping Mad
AIRED:
The Truth Hurts: Riley is excited about her new job as a reporter on the school newspaper and can't wait to get started. Her excitement soon turns to frustration though leading her to call Fleemco when the head of the newspaper will not let her write hard-hitting stories like she wants to. But when Riley's stories start to embarrass her friends and family, she decides that she would rather be a good friend and sister than a reporter. Jumping Mad: Feeling that her dad's stunts are not safe enough because his stunt coordinator doesn't take as many precautions as he should, Riley replaces the old stunt coordinator known as Uncle Phil with a physics professor. But what seemed like a good idea to keep Dick safe soon starts hurting his stunts because they are too safe. Can Riley convince Uncle Phil to come back to work for her dad and fix the problem that she has created?moreless

  • This one was kinda cool

    9.0
I liked this one again for CAR and Agent K. My favorite lines include "Riley you shouldn't cut things out of the newspaper. It confuses your father." And "Iron melts you know" when CAR holds up a laser to destroy the new contract but K won't let him and then he's like "Oh you never let me have any fun anymore!" Overall, good episode.
  • I only saw Truth Hurts, and thats all I can take from this show!!!

    1.1
Riley wants a new newspaper editor, because he wont let her report what she wants. So calls in a famous reporter, things go good. Until her stories go to far!! She is in desperite need for a story, seeing that everyone knows what she's up too, they refuse to go near her. She gets tempted to do a story on Todd, but she didn't want to hurt him. She gets kicked off the newspaper for it!!!moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • Principal Cutler passes off what he calls "inferior" #1 pencils as #2 pencils, however the number on pencils is not a measure of their quality, but rather the hardness of the graphite (the "lead") inside.

  • QUOTES (7)

    • (Sierra and her friends gossip about Johnny at lunch while Riley scribbles notes underneath their table.)
Sierra: So, did you guys hear about Johnny? Don't tell anybody but he totally asked Jessica to go the dance, but then he found out that Cindy wasn't going there. So then Johnny asked Cindy, but never told Jessica, so now he's got two dates for the same dance! (exclaims in disgust) He's such a pig!
Claudia: (exclaims in disgust) Such a pig!
Jennifer: I so wished he asked me!
      All: (sighing) Yeah!

    • Todd: Thanks for not embarrassing me Riley.
Riley: Well, sometimes protecting a friend is more important than exposing the truth.

    • Shelton: (Reading Headline) Extra! Extra! Lunch lady admits that last week's tacos are this week's sloppy joes!

    • Amanda McMurphy: You got keen eyes kid. Throw in a little gumption and you might just have a future at this rag. What's the name?
      Riley: Riley Daring.
Amanda McMurphy: Daring! Daring! I like it! Has a certain daring quality to it.

    • Conrad Fleem: Hello, Fleemco!
Riley: Hello, sir? I need a new journalism teacher. Someone like hard-hitting investigative reporter Amanda McMurphy.
Mr. Fraley: (Being Offered New Job by Fleemco) Proofread the phonebook? That sounds like the most boring, tedious job in the world. I'll take it!

    • Riley: Excuse me sir. Are you Mr. Fraley?
Mr. Fraley: Ahh!! What's with the third degree? What are you? Some kind of reporter or something?
      Riley: Um, actually yes.
Mr. Fraley: Well, let me tell you something. Asking deep, proding questions like, "Are you Mr. Fraley?" Won't fly around here!

    • Dick Daring: Ah, the morning paper! My intellectual stimulant to start the day.
Agent K: So sorry dear. The kids dropped the funny pages.
Dick Daring: Oh, alright. I'll read the wordy pages.
