  • Solid, Funny Episode, but would The Riches work better as a movie?

    8.5
Probably my favorite episode of the riches at the moment (granted there have only been 3) but this one had the comedic moments that didnt seem to be there for the last 2. Brilliant acting again by eddie izzard and minnie driver, always the young kid of the family did very well. It seems to me though that this series might of been better suited as a movie considering the suspension of belief in some of these scenes such as wayne becoming a top lawyer (by the way how does he get paid wouldnt he have to submit his details to the company?), the kids getting into school etc. For the moment these still work within the show but how long is it until it starts to get tired or maybe boring? Hopefully it wont be and it will keep getting better.moreless
  • I thought that this episode moved a little slow. I felt that the one major con of this eposode was a little weak. I did like the car seen were her head is out the sunroof, and they are trying to act like they think "buffers" do.moreless

I thought that this episode moved a little slow. I know we need some story line building but I felt that the one major con of this eposode was a little weak. When they stole the paret to get into school. However I liked the car seen where he head is out the sunroof trying to act like they think "buffers" do.
  • Interesting depth added to all the main characters. A well written episode that set out to get you familiar with the family and pulled it off!

    9.2
I like the way that "Doug" walked in and took stock of everyone in the building in no time flat. How he used the people to make his pseudo life work. Listening to people and manipulating their desires to further his goals. His popularity was evident by the end of his first day.

Dahlia had herself quite a time too... She spent a good bit of time concocting a scheme to get her kids into school. She is obviously a class A schemer but she is different from her husband in the fact that to this point her plots are more spur of the moment and don't seem to have an ultimate direction. She eased back into being mom again too, starting with the youngest boy she gained his trust and then used that to ask him to publicly be either a boy or a girl and subtlety told him that he couldn't be both...and that being a boy would be easiest.

The gypsies now have a strong link to finding the family after the lies brought the older boy to steal a car and come back to rescue his girlfriend. His noble act for her should expand that part of the story greatly.

Overall learning more about all of the main players in the show makes you care about what happens to them next and right now there is a whole lot ahead for the Riches.moreless
  • Wayne begins his new job and meanwhile Dahlia insists on registering the kids at a rich private school

    7.0
Alright the show is still new so it's going to take some time for everything to get rolling and for episodes to be outstanding. With that, one of the great parts of this episode was with Dahlia's plan for her kids to get into that private school. She goes over to the administrator's hours, takes the bird, and then has her youngest son look for the bird...in returns she hopes this will make the lady allow her children to attend the school. Although it was Wayne's idea for the kids to go to school and they didn't want too. He should have said: "Knowledge is power and those who have higher education levels make more money; in today's society money is power." Oh yeah, great laugh when Wayne was giving his speech to the firm at his new job...what B.S. I'm looking forward in seeing how he's going to keep it.moreless
