Doug being the smart guy he is probably didn’t know what it was like to have been on drugs. So to prove to Dalia and himself that drugs get you nowhere, he snorts a handful left by Dalia’s old celli. Of course Doug the smart guy that he is has never done them, he loves his wife so much he is willing to risk his life, because he knows sometimes you have to see how you looks in someone else’s eyes to stop behavior, it’s called “mirroring” in psychological terms. This episode was hilarious and educational. We saw that Doug did get nowhere from looking for work to stealing Grandma. Oh, of course Grandma added another element to the show, we are not sure what yet, comedy for sure, and “I made a call.” And, also it brings the cross dressing son in the mix with having a close relationship with her.moreless

Wayne's love for his wife knows no boundaries. When she is troubled, he will be right there by her side...making things worse. Thank God they found drugs.

This was a painful show to watch. Before writing my review, I waited a week to see if this episode had indeed jumped the shark, or if “This is your brain on drugs” defined this season’s bottom of the barrel. I don’t want to seem harsh, but this episode was crap. I will be the first to defend the fact that this is not a documentary, or based on real life events of any kind. Writers will take certain liberates to move the story where they want it to go. What they expect us, as fans, to believe, is that Wayne’s best course of action to get his wife off of drugs, is to do drugs himself. Ooohh puke! The Malloy’s are supposed to be smart people, survivors. As a fan of this show, I want to see them overcome and succeed by being on top of their game. I am not offended by “the drug episode”, as a matter of fact, I thought Chunky K is a great character, and I hope to see her again. What really hurt was seeing Wayne so out of control. I want to see him being able to con his way through life by being smarter than the normal buffer. The only saving grace for this show, was the introduction of “I made some calls” Grandma. I hope she finds her way into the show as a regular.moreless

This clearly was an anti-drug episode (I’m all for that!!) The producers and writers did a great job with handling such a big issue in society today that needs to be addressed more often. In the end, I must say the point was put across was very well done and acted out professional by everyone involved with the show. However, besides the anti-drug theme; this episode wasn’t strong and lack spark. I only kept watching to see if Dale was going to do something stupid or expose Wayne to the neighbor. Yet, I was somewhat confused on one thing...Is Mrs. Hartley married to what would be the real Mr. Rich’s father?moreless
