I LOVE this episode. When I was a little girl, about seven or eight, I remember seeing this for the first time. It was on VHS tape my dad had in his movie closet. The tape had 9 episodes, and this particular episode was the 7th. Immediately, this was my favorite, and I would pull the tape out over and over again just so I could watch this one.
The reason I watch this show, and this episode can be summed up in a few words: Father and Son relationship. Lucas was down to nothing, not even a shirt or shoes. Yet, he loved his son so much that he walked the long miles of scorching hot desert to rescue Mark. Any other man would have given up. The scene where father and son finally reunite is completely heart-wrenching. Johnny Crawford and Chuck Connors made the Lucas/Mark relationship real.
