I am a bit biased being a huge fan of the original series, but the other 90's made for TV movies I saw were not able to capture the same sincerity that you got from the original series. This one is different. No comical collapse of Rockford's Home and car, just what I felt was some excellent acting and heartfelt drama that any fan would appreciate, or any parent who may someday have to face the fact that their precious child didn't turn out the way they had hoped, despite good intentions. Each if the characters in this movie seemed real to me with understandable motives, shortcomings, and believable dialogue. I don't mean to paint it like "Avatar", but it's worth two hours of your time. Hopefully we'll have a new Rockford movie to compare it to soon (wish they hadn't cancelled the new series).
