  • Lance White returns with Freedie Beamer. 'Nuff said.

Excellent Cannell written program with Garner at his best and supporting characters that are garnish of the main dish.

This episode shows how easy it was for Tom Selleck to move on to Magnum, P.I., which he did a year later. His easy going, charming manner is almost enough that the roll could have been done in pantomime.

James Whitmore, Jr. softshoes into this repeated quirky role of Freddie Beamer. This character is an excellent coupling with Lance White and Rockford.

These guys are all involved with the story of an annual meeting of private eyes and the death of a senator at the convention. Beamer is thought to have done it and Rockford and White find themselves trying to prove otherwise. Result is a funny and highly satisfying Rockford Files. This being one of the last episodes and one of the best.
