      • (as he takes Webster and Gillis' police hats for use in the collection)
Toby Jones: Ah, do you mind if I borrow your hats?
        Gillis: Do it.
Toby Jones: (tossing the hats down from the balcony) Craig. Joni. Now if you've got money to spare, give; but if you're tapped out, well, then take what in the heck goes by. Now, money is not the root of all evil. It is the LOVE of money, that's what it is. Yeah. Now, ah, it's cool to like it a little bit, especially when it's doing the Lord's work, right?

      • (Toby reaches the collection hat out to Webster and Gillis)
        Gillis: Oh, sure. Yeah!
        Toby Jones: (laughing) Hey!
(congregation applauds Gillis) The Lord loves a cheerful giver!
(reaches collection hat out to a reluctant Webster, who finally contributes) Ah. He's fairly fond of the reluctant too.

      • Lt. Ryker: Four disturbing the peace complaints: not do you not issue citations, you want to help him.
Gillis: Lieutenant, we like the work he's doing.
Lt. Ryker: And what might that be?
Webster: Taking kids, most of them junkies, off the street, turning them on to religion, showing them that there's something else.
Lt. Ryker: Well, that's very commendable. What else do you know about him?
Gillis: He's helping people. Isn't that enough?
Lt. Ryker: Gillis, our files runneth over with bible-toting, scripture-quoting phonies. How do you know he's not one of them?
        Webster: Gut feeling.
Lt. Ryker: Take an anti-acid tablet. Maybe it'll go away.

      • Lt. Ryker: Let's talk about your record, Reverend: burglary, auto theft.
Toby Jones: Look, Lieutenant, a hood is nothing more than a cat who ain't as rich as he think he ought to be, you know, like that Robin Hood dude. I stole form the rich and I gave to the poor, and the poor was me.

      • (arriving at Mike and Jill's apartment, where everyone, including Toby Jones, has gathered)
Lt. Ryker: Well, I was just driving by, I spotted Jones' van, I thought I'd come up and follow my doctor's orders. Uh, he thought it might be therapeutic if I personally visited the cause of my latest ulcer attack.
Toby Jones: Oh, hey, I've got perfect remedy for that, Lieutenant: a healing session tonight. We'll pray those ulcers right into oblivion, man.
Lt. Ryker: Thanks, uh, I don't think so.
Webster: Oh, come on, Lieutenant, if ever a person needed to be healed, am ...
Lt. Ryker: Physicians heal themselves. Now, if you want to look that up, you'll find it in the Gospel according to St. Luke, Chapter 4, Verse 23.
        Toby Jones: All right.
Lt. Ryker: Oh, here's another one for you: second Thessalonians 3:10 – If any would not work, neither should he eat. That means you're on duty in a half an hour, don't be late.
        (laughter)

      • (after he is able to resuscitate Toby)
Webster: Welcome back Brother Lazarus. Welcome back.
