  • The Ropers are now the tenants, but the laughs are still as wacky.

This was a great way to start a new series, while the airing I saw recently is the syndicated version, with the Three's Company intro, its clearly a whole new series. Based off the UK British spin-off George and Mildred(which was a spin-off of Man About the House, which Three's Company was based on), this continues the laughs we have in Three's Company, but gives the Ropers a chance to be focused on. I love this episode, the structure is great, the set up amazing and the whole concept, why not original still works well. Jeffrey Tambor(who would guest star in Three's Company as a psychiatrist)easily fits in the role as the upstart landlord, who like Stanley in Three's Company is controlled in a way by his wife. Its a shame NBC screwed this show over, they lost out on doubling their ratings(and eventually tripling it)because they were a bit discouraged by a slight drop in ratings(which only happened because they changed the date and time).
