What can I say about the season premiere of "The Saddle Club"? Well I found it to be a nice addition to the series, but there was nothing spectactular about it.

While it was nice to see a new horse introduced to the series (Dorthee's horse Hugo), and how the girls and the rest of Pine Hollow was trying to solve the mystery of why Hugo was acting so differently from what they read about him. However, there were a few things about the episode that I didn't like.

An example of what I didn't like about the new season was Lisa's little sister Melanie. While it was obvious that a new actress was cast in the role, but that wasn't what I didn't like, what was different about the character is how stuck up she was in the new season. I liked how the character was portrayed in the first season, mainly because how normal she was, unlike in season 2. Another thing that I didn't like about the episode was Kristi and Veronica' snobbish attitudes. While they were stuck up and snobbish in the past, but in this episode, as well as episodes that followed, it appeared that their attitudes got worse.

And one part of the storyline that I'm not too sure on was how the character of Scooter was introduced. Considering that I was not that much of a fan of his during this season, I wasn't too thrilled with him. The only reason why I didn't really like or dislike this episode was because how it tied into Carole's returning to Pine Hollow after a short vacation with her father and how it made her think that nobody remembered her birthday that day.

These were just a few reasons why I didn't like this episode that much. It was entertaining to watch, but nothing spectatular happened.moreless
