Obviously Carole is talking to either Hugo or Starlight, but it was already stated in the episode that Hugo is a boy. So Carole must be talking to Starlight, but in the book series of The Saddle Club Starlight is a gelding (in fact, Starlight's original name in the book series was Pretty Boy). Edit
