      • Burnside: You know if Willie was paid 20,000 a year, I'd tell him to get on with it and earn his money. But everytime I fight on Sandbagger's pay, I'm told there's nothing special about them. They spend half their life sitting in a hutch pushing paper.
        (Laura sighs)
Burnside: I've always argued it's not what they do, it's what they may have to do come the crunch. Well, the crunch has come now. And I find it very hard to tell Willie to go out and kill himself at civil service rates.

      • C: The Prime Minister won't have forgotten the Egyptian raid on Larnaka.

On February 19, 1978, Egyptian commandos attempted a rescue of a hijacked plane at Larnaka, Cyprus. They were opposed by the Cyprus National Guards and resulted in the death of 15 of the commandos. Egypt and Cyprus subsequently severed diplomatic ties.
