When Sarah speaks to the class, there's writing on the chalkboard that says "Rhet Bear go to Health Office". Rhet Bear is the Director of Photography for The Sarah Silverman Program.
(In her Public Service Announcement)
Sarah: Over 50 billion people get HIV everyday. That's one out of three people.
Sarah: If we can put a man on the moon, then we can put a man with AIDS on the moon. And then someday…we can put everyone with AIDS on the moon.
Nurse: Have you ever had unprotected sex?
Sarah: Uh..is there any other kind?
Nurse: Did you ever have a blood transfusion in the 80s?
Sarah: Yeah.
Nurse: (surprised) You did? You had a blood transfusion in the 80s?
Sarah: Oh! (laughs) No, I thought you said, "in Haiti"
Nurse: How long were you in Haiti?
Sarah: Uh...I don't know. That's kinda hard to say I was doing a lot of heroin at the time.
(Sarah begins singing as she's walking down the street)
Homeless Man: Spare change?
Sarah: No.
(Sarah begins singing again)
Homeless Man: You don't have any spare change?
Sarah: No, don't be a dick!
(Sarah talking to her dog Doug at the end of the episode)
Sarah: I learned so much today, Doug. I learned that I should look before I leap. And I learned that...that for some reason people bring tomatoes to AIDS rallies, which is weird. But most of all I learned that...prejudice is ugly. It's wrong to judge people based on whether or not they have AIDS. I mean, you don't have AIDS and I love you just are much as if you did. More even. At any rate, I did get rid of my blahs. Good night Doug.
Jimmy Kimmel (who plays Joan the dispatcher in this episode) was Sarah Silverman's boyfriend at the time.
Sarah: My name is Sarah, and I'm going to pump (handclap) you up, with AIDS awareness.
Sarah says this at her AIDS awareness rally. It is a reference to the sketch "Pumping Up with Hans & Franz" from Saturday Night Live, a show for which Sarah was once a writer and featured player.
Intercom Announcement: Doctor O'Malley your labs are back.
This announcement was made when Sarah goes to get her AIDS test results. This is a reference to Dr. George O'Malley from Grey's Anatomy. Actor T.R. Knight who plays O'Malley was outed in 2006 and is now openly gay.
Evita
Sarah is dressed like and standing in front of a picture where she looks like Evita Peron during her rally and even changes some of the lyrics to the song Don't Cry for Me Argentina to fit her situation.
