  • Grace is involved in an incident.

    7.7
The Secret Life of the American Teenager took a turn for the better with their latest installment. The show embraced the light-hearted style of drama that has found TV ratings success in the new millennium. George Juergens put in another strong performance as the patriarch of the household, first comically waking Amy up and then verbally thrashing daughter Ashley for her appearance.

The episode also seemed to take on a more believable stage. Well, aside from the exaggerated drunkards trying to rape Grace, but the following repercussions from everyone involved seemed like what would take place in real life.

We're also seeing conflict escalate which is resulting in heightened drama and more suspense. Cliffhangers will now be easier to write now that we are starting to feel for the characters. There are still some flaws with the program. Amy and Jack's acting is still sub-par and takes away from the stimulating show. I don't like the way Adrian's character is progressing either, as I think her underrated acting ability is being overshadowed by a bizarre and burlesque version of the school whore.

Jack taking his shirt off in public also resulted in a drop-off of my scoring. Seriously, what was that?moreless
  • Grace's reputation is tarnished.

    7.0
Some parts of this episode, were so boring, and didn't really have any point. The first half of the episode was at it's best. Ashley distracts her parents, by making them think that she is having sex, so they don't notice Amy's pregnancy. She confessed to having sex, but theyy didn't believe her. Grace is sneaking around with Jack, and some drunk drivers stop and start to bother her, she breaks a bottle and threatens them, right after praying to God. Then Ricky comes without his shirt to rescue her (Adrian's fault) The tape ends up on national telivision which ruins her rep, and her relationship. I liked it when Adrian & Jack both took off their shirt as a result all of it. I'm glad Grace broke up with Jack though. And I like the friendship between Grace & Ricky. At the end, everyone goes to church to make other people jealous? That's the thing that bothered me. Oh and Anne thinks George is cheating on her, and by the expression on his face by the end, he probably is. Okay episode, loved the concept, too much boring fill ins, with some highlights.moreless
  • Fourth Episode

    8.8
Jack drops Grace off at a streetcorner at midnight and Ricky is late picking her up. She calls him and leaves Adrians with hs shirt off. Two drunken guys find Grace and "harass" her. Ricky comes to her rescue. This is all caught on a banks security camera and is all over the news the next morning. Grace is the laughing stalk at school and she tells her parents the truth about her Jack and Ricky. As a punishment Grace decides to quit cheerleading. Ashley tries to get attention away from Amy by acting like she is having sex and Amy's parents find out that she had sex.

This was in my opinion one of the better episodes so far. So I rate this episode an 8.8/10.moreless
  • Starring: Shailene Woodley, Kenny Baumann, India Eisley, Greg Finley II, Daren Kagasoff, Megan Park, Francia Raisa, Mark Derwin, and Molly Ringwald.

    9.4
I was skeptical about whether to continue to watch this series or to let it fall to the pit where all the other television shows that i tried and could not stay with it as i really didnt have a desire to watch the show any more. But this episode restored my faith within the series. The plot is very well done, the idea of Grace (Megan Park) having to defend herself against to drunk men, and Ricky (Daren Kagasoff) running to the rescue was brilliant. Not only did it set off some drama, but also some of the hints to what may happen later on in the series. There were also some comedic moments in the episode with Jack (Greg Finley II) taking off his shirt after Adrian (Francia Raisa) takes off her shirt that was Ricky's. And how Ashley (India Eisley) dressed up insanely nice because Amy (Shailene Woodley) is pregnant. And how she mentions that she has a court date. Very funny and filled with a lot of drama.moreless
  • Episode four of Secret Life

    6.4
    Fourth episode!

While on the side of a road, Grace is threatened and nearly "violated" by two drunk men when Jack leaves her because of his curfew. It's Ricky to the rescue, and after he saves her, they hug. Little do they know, the whole scene was caught on a security camera at a nearby building. The video is played on the local news all the next day. Grace is extremely embarrassed and terrified. Her parents find out about her and Jack sneaking around with the help of Ricky, and Grace breaks up with Jack.

Amy and Ben start to fight when Ben starts to get a little to clingy.
