When did the term change from STDs to STIs? Maybe I have been out of organized health class for too long, but I just think this is another one of those weird Secret Life expressions.

Nevertheless, it is good to have this quirky family show back on the air. It may not have been the most memorable midseason premiere, but it did set the foundation for the next few weeks and ensure where I will be on Monday nights for the foreseeable future.

I think the show is exploring too many new relationships, but that has always been this show's M.O. Beverly Mitchell joining the cast could be fun I suppose. Tough to see the show lose Mayim Bialik to the Big Bang Theory, but it is not like this is the first guidance counselor to leave that high school.moreless

The highly anticipated mid-season premiere of The Secret Life of The American Teenager is finally here, and I was for the most part satisfied with it's return. When Secret Life closed out last year, it was in a bit of a rut, at least, I sensed it was, but we actually got some fresh story lines tonight.

And by fresh, I mean never-been-done before. You'd think Secret Life, only at it's third season, wouldn't have a problem with repeating story lines, but it definitely does, see Adrian's pregnancy for example. Thank god Ms. Bink was replaced, we actually got some good interactions from Beverley Mitchell, she was quite funny.

I'm actually surprised the STD thing hasn't been done before. The main topic of conversation is always sex, so the fact that STD's were barely brought up now really took me by surprise. We got some good dynamics, and potential for possible story lines this season.

All the talk about Adrian's girth, I would have thought she would have been carrying twins, but she didn't by the end. It would be very interesting if Grace (of all people) ended up with an STD and Ricky ended up scotch-free, looking forward in seeing how that plays out.

Amy is still annoying, and Ashley actually merited some respect back after she clearly lost it the previous year. Overall, good feel of what's to come.moreless
