Well that was intense, it was all classic Shield moments in there. Antwon Mitchell goes down after great suspense where It appeared Shane and Army would go down. I actually like all storylines in there, maybe with the exception of Julian Moral issues. Dutch and Claudette`s investigation was interesting, actually pretty classic shield stuff. But the main plot advancer s remains that Antwon is now off to prison but however Rawling may be problem for Vic now. Rawling surprises me, her interrogation of Antwon was pretty intense, so was the Shane-Antwon confrontation. So it looks like the strike team is reuniting soon....interesting.moreless

So many watershed moments in this episode: Aceveda's role playing with Sara spirals out of control, and he decides it's time to return to his family. After another strangling victim is found, Dutch and Claudette see their chance to finally take down Kleavon- but he proves as cagey and elusive as ever. As the rest of the newly-reunited Strike Team continues their frantic search for Angie's body, Monica takes the lead in a fierce interrogation of Antwon, as an anxious Mackey looks on. This series of scenes alone is worth the price of admission, as Glenn Close and Anthony Anderson square off in the interrogation cell and deliver performances that should be required viewing for any student of world-class acting. Antwon cracks under the pressure and gives up Shane and Army, forcing Vic to try a new, bold and daring strategy- actually telling Monica (most of) the truth...

    What an hour+ of television!moreless

This episode shows exactly why "The Shield" is one of the best dramas on television. Well-written could not begin to describe how superbly written this episode was. Gripping, uncomfortable, heartbreaking, and thrilling all at the same time, this episode succeeds on more levels than what most shows hope to during their entire run. Yet what makes this episode so incredibly is the astonishing acting performance by Anthony Anderson as Antwon Mitchell. In complete contrast with his unaffected bravado this whole season, Anderson reveals Antwon in this episode to be a conflicted person with a heartbreaking past. It is an utter outrage that Anderson did not get nominated (much less win) an Emmy for his outstanding performance this season as Antwon, and his work in season 4 proves him to be one of the finest, underappreciated, and undiscovered dramatic actors working in the field today.moreless

  • This was a good episode. The 90 minute air time allowed them to tell the story but did not slow it down like a 2hour ep would have.

    1) I find myself saying this every episode. Kinda like everytime I watch "Seinfeld" I end up sayin, "George is an idiot." "Aceveda is out of his mind."

    2) But at least this "hoooker" understands him better than his wife. She's a lot more compassionate, that's for sure.

    3) Claudette and Dutch in the interrogation room with Cleavon reminds me of Bayless and Pembleton in the box with "The Araber" in Homicide's "Three Men and Adena" episode. Like FranknTim, they used every trick in the book to get a confession out of a man accused of killing a Black girl. And like FranknTim, they were unsuccessful.

    4) Speaking of Homicide. Having Antwon Mitchell in the room was like Meldrick and Mikey trying to break Luther Mahoney. We all know how Mikey broke him though.

    5) So Antwon's son is a "cum burper"? As Vic so eloquently put it.

    6) I don't believe it. Vic finally got out of a situation by telling the TRUTH! It's a novel concept. Maybe the Strike Team will try it in the future.

    7) Shane was willing to take one for the team. Lem was right though, they wouldn't even be in that situation if it weren't for Shane in the first place.

    8) Overall: This was a good episode. The 90 minute air time allowed them to tell the story but did not slow it down like a 2hour ep would have.moreless

    • Monica: (to Antwon, who gets more and more upset as Monica goes on) Do you want to talk about indiscretions? Secrets in the dark? How 'bout when you were a kid? Thirteen, fourteen, fat, not very popular, burying your head under the covers to drown out the screams of your baby sister? Your six-year-old sister that your daddy raped, night after night, and you couldn't stop it, could you? Too much of a coward to confront your old man, but not your mama. She emptied 2 loads of buckshot into his gut, so Daddy's dead, baby sister's in the psych ward, and your mama...((Antwon starts to visibly cry) she's doing life in Chino, all because you couldn't come out from under the covers. But, oh boy, are you making up for it now. Oh yeah, you're street tough, you're a gangster, full of cop-killing rage. But you're still too much of a coward to even save your own son. ((Antwon makes an audible sign of distress) Cuff him. Edit
