  • It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood: The Team is now under Claudette's iron rule, and are forced to work (and share quarters)with the Decoy Squad. Oh yeah, and they have to work a vice sting with a hooker as bait- shades of poor, doomed Connie.moreless

There are the usual working elements in this episode: Dutch working his interrogation magic on an oily predator; Aceveda working his shady political schemes; things aren't working out between Shane and Mara; Danny is working in the Barn again- but Vic's arc takes the most serious turn. The Team is under Claudette's supervision, and she sends them on a vice sweep with the Decoy Squad, also humiliatingly forcing them to share headquarters with them. Vic is approached by a hooker who wants to go undercover, a move that most certainly has to remind Vic of Connie's fate. What he does next is unexpected and surprising- he goes cold and detached on her, crossing the line into mental and physical abuse, to the consternation of Lem. But it turns out Vic's heart is still in the right place- he was just trying to scare her away from The Life- to no avail. Emmy-worthy acting job by Chiklis as his character is shown in the most unsympathetic light yet.moreless

    • Look closely at Lem's motorcycle. It's not the same yellow one as we saw clear back in Season One. The camera is raised up so you can't tell it's not the same, but if you compare both, you can see the handlebars are different. Edit
    • When we last see Brian, he was nothing but a baby. Now he's a toddler. According to the timeline it's only been about six months since he was put into adoption. He grew up fast. Edit

    • Dutch: This is a guy who raped a woman, didn't leave a single hair fiber. No. Not only have I been chasing the wrong guy, I caught him. Edit
    • Claudette: I talked to the hooker who got jumped. She's willing to build a case against her pimp. Vic: I talked to her too, she's a liar! Claudette: Then she should fit right in on your team! Edit
