  • Maybe it's just me- I liked this episode, but so much stuff was crammed into it that it became convoluted and hard to follow.

The whole San Marcos thing is definitely not my favorite storyline. Ditto the intrigue about making peace between the Salvadorans and the Mexicans. Hernan? Meh. And the stuff with Gilroy's widow? I'm sure the writers have some big-picture plan to tie it all together, but it just feels like overkill to me. After what she did in this episode, I'm officially running for President of the Mara Hate Club. But I'll make sure I save plenty of hate for Shane, too. What a perpetual loser! And now he's letting himself be pimped out by the Armenians. Not to mention threatening Vic. Can you say "death wish"?moreless
  • Wow! Shane gets the heat turned up by getting help from the armenians and threating Vic with passing info to IAD. His wife also gets invovled and we see the Gilroy situation turning up. Plus San Margos murders still hasnt' been solved quite yet!moreless

This episode was not as strong as the last episode but we all need to cross that bridge (this episode) before getting to the real good stuff (episode before season finale as well as season finale). Shane has shown that he is just as manipulative and calculating as Vic which is not good. The look on Vic's face at the end of the episode shows that Vic is in for the fight of his life to avenge Lem and steer himself from any trouble.

Gilroy's wife also comes into play as we find out about what really happened to Gilroy and his wife's involvement. It seems that is plays a significant part although I cannot figure out what it is.

Shane's wife comes into play by threatening Corrine. I really start to hate Maura at this point. It seems that she pressures Shane into telling her everything that he's done. Plus she also hates Vic so we know that she will help Shane get to him, even if it means going through Corrine to do it.

I also want to add that Shane is definitely worse than Vic. Vic stated in the very first episode of the first season that the team comes first always. Vic has always been ready to give himself up and sacrifice himself for the sake of the team. Same can be said for Lem and also Ronnie. On the otherhand, Shane is squarely only looking out for himself. It all started with his involvement with Antwon. When Lem tried to help out and had to go to prison to save the team, Shane decided way beforehand to take him out fearing he would turn on the team (which we know he would never do). Now he's turning on Vic when he was there with Vic doing all the things he wants to pin on him. That is someone you do not want on your team and I hope he gets whats coming to him!

As I said earlier, this episode clearly was not as intense or compelling as the last episode. While not as strong, it will lead to better episodes and a strong season finale. You gotta get the weak episodes out of the way to build up for the conclusion which looks to be a thriller.

It's too bad we have to wait another week for it!moreless

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • When Shane cuffed the gas station owner at the counter, he went to lock the door from the inside. However, after Shane finished interrogating the man, he busted out the gas station store by merely pushing the door as if it were open.

  • QUOTES (4)

    • Mara: (referring to Shane) He doesn't do anything without you knowing about it. Don't dick me around here.
      Vic: I'm not -- that's his job.

    • Shane: (to Vic) Now, anything happens to me or my wife or my son... even my mailman, anybody that I am close to, this lands on IAD's doorstep. Just imagine every wrong, brutal thing we have ever done. It's hard to do, isn't it? We've done so many.

    • Vic: Come on Santi, don't you byz lat assholes know you gotta get along with these psychos? Either that or get a grenade shoved up your ass.
Santi: Ain't nothing up my ass except you.
Vic: Yeah? How am I feeling?

    • Billings: You know, Dutch, I could teach you a few things about women, if you want.
Dutch: Why don't you write them down, and I can read them at my leisure.
