The Simpsons

Season 23 Episode 18

Beware My Cheating Bart

Aired Sunday 8:00 PM Apr 15, 2012 on FOX

  • Trivia

    • When the camera pulls back into outer space, it passes by a small asteroid, with Leela and Fry from Futurama standing on it. The way Fry is standing on the small asteroid is reminiscent of the cover of the book "The Little Prince".

    • The people on the island in the TV show "Stranded" find a message written in an alien language on a rock. The alien language is that which is used in Futurama, and the message says "WATCH FUTURAMA THURSDAY AT 10"

  • Quotes

    • Jimbo: (To Bart) Not so fast, Simpson. (To Dolph) Uh, what was that thing I was going to do to him, again?
Dolph: I told you you should have written it down.
Jimbo: If I wrote down everything you told me to write down, I'd have no time for punching!
Dolph: Whoa, you should write that down, man.

    • (To a mall security guard, Bart takes the blame for Shauna, who shoplifted a bottle of perfume)
      Bart: I stole this.
      Security Guard: You stole perfume?
Bart: I use it all the time. Look. (Sprays some in his mouth, then sings) Mi-mi-mi-mi-mi!
Security Guard: (Mockingly) You-you-you-you-you...and I are taking a trip to the mall jail.
Bart: Didn't that used to be the Beanie Baby store?
      Security Guard: Shut up.

    • Shauna: Bart here's my thank you gift. (flashes Bart)
Bart: What could a girl have... gasp... Oh my god. They're just like dad's!

Billboard Gag: FOX:25 Years of Televised Stuff.
Chalkboard Gag: The true location of Springfield is in any state but yours.
Couch Gag: This extended sequence is shown in an different animation in which while the family sits on the couch, Homer flashes back to when he met the couch as a younger man, skating in the local park and carrying a boombox, crashes into a tree and falls onto it. The two begin a whirlwind romance before being ridiculed by other people. Afterward, they meet in secret locations to avoid being seen. Another day, the two are walking in the park again where Homer bumps into the same tree, then falls into Marge's hands. They fall in love, leaving the couch dejected. Afterward, they get married, and after the couch's efforts to return to Homer fail, it begins a seedy life of working at a strip joint working in back alleys. It decides to end its life by throwing itself into a garbage truck, but Homer saves it, taking it back home. Back to the present, the family is still seated at the couch, where Homer looks over to see Maggie sitting comfortably on a small junior couch. The sequence is autographed by animator Bill Plympton.
