Homer decides to test drive a new, electric car just to get the free gift. He wrecks the car by driving it underwater but gets two free tickets to a screening of Michael Gibson's new film, a remake of Mr Smith Goes to Washington. After the screening, when Mel Gibson flirts with Marge, Homer angrily writes a negative review on Mel's audience reaction card. Despite great reviews from everyone else, Mel obsesses over Homers bad review and decides he needs Homers help to improve his film.
The Simpsons fly to Hollywood Mel and Homer rework the movie in the studio, Marge and the kid's tour Tinsel Town. Homer and Mel both agree that the ending of the film is wrong because there is too much talking and not enough violence. When they show the executives the new ending, with Mel exacting revenge on the senate, they fear for their jobs. They try and burn the film but before they can, Homer and Mel grab it and flee. Homer in injured from mooning the executives.
The movie premiers with new ending and the audience hate it. Mel is disappointed but Homer is optimistic and starts planning future projects. Mel decides he has had enough and kicks Homer out of his moving limousine.
