    • Goodfellas

The final scene where Homer comes out of the house in his robe and picks up the newspaper (while also doing a voice-over concluding his experience in helping to take down the mob), is a reference to the mob film Goodfellas which ends with the same scene with Ray Liotta.

    • Donnie Brasco
The title of this episode is a play on the title of the 1997 Al Pacino/Johnny Depp film Donnie Brasco Both the movie and this episode share the same plot, in which the protagonist infiltrates the mob and befriends one of the key members. In the end, when it was time for the police to bust all the mobsters, the mole feels remorse for bringing down his mobster friend.
