Sunday 8:00 PM on FOXIn Season
It depends on your tastes, really
2-3 are good for strong charachter related plots and a more intelligent sort of humor
4-5 are strong in quirky humor
6 is one of the more whacky (but in a light way) seasons, with many humorous episodes
7 and 8 are pretty balanced in charachter related plots and season 6-esque humor
9 is quite popular among casual fans
I currently have the firse eight seasons, you can't really go wrong with any of the first nine that are out. Season nine is the last pretty good season before it really went downhill. S3-6 are probably most solid, but rest are very good too.
But, I would say if you had to pick one season, Season Four is the best ever. It has the highest number of top notch episodes out of any season....like: Last Exit to Springfield, Marge Vs. The Monorail, Duffless, New Kid on the Block, Homer's Triple Bypass, Selma's Choice, Kamp Krusty, Homer the Heretic, Mr. Plow, I Love Lisa, Marge in Chains, Lisa's First Word....and alot more.
|I think its a debate really between 4 & 5, not just because of Conan O'Brien, but because when the show was younger I think the writers didn't just try to make a good or respectable show for that week, but tried to make every line and drawing as funny as they could be because they had something to prove. Now the show is established, and can never be canceled because it basically funded FOX becoming a legitimate fourth network and has legions of fans who grew up on it. 4 has some of the best episodes of all time, like Marge vs. the Monorail, Mr. Plow, Streetcar Named Marge, and my personal favorite, Last Exist to Springfield. Season five has some really memorable ones, and I think the quality across the board is better, there are no downs in season 5 but I don't think the highs quite get to season 4. 5's got Homer the Heretic, Deep space Homer, Cape Feare, Homer Goes to College, Last Temptation of Homer, Homer and Apu . . . it just goes on and on with great episodes. So if I had to choose one I would take 5 over 4 as an entire season.|
