I thought it was okay. Had some decent jokes, and a somewhat coherent plot. It was nice to see Abe's past without really messing up continuity. Lisa was predictable though...you knew she'd give into the temptation of gambling. Wish they'd take new directions with that. Maybe they could've had Homer actually put it in a bank and then have Lisa deal with the bank mismanaging it. It happens in the real world, they could've done a bit of satire on that. I don't know...her story line felt a little cliche and obvious. Although, it is nice that they actually kept the college fund money for Lisa at the end of the episode. In episodes past they lost money somehow. She still has the $5,000 at least. I kind of wish they would've given some to Bart...I know Bart likely wouldn't go to college but it would've been nice to mention it and start a little something to help him.

I think the real-world me is looking at this too critically lol. Overall, pretty good episode. It wasn't all that crazy in my opinion.

Abe's story was great but so weak the old gambling addict storyline. If the show is going to go low brow at least make an effort to make it funny and interesting.

I have never heard of nor seen Wacky Races...so I had no idea what the couch gag was referencing.

It's an old cartoon from the 60s.
