my reason is simple. I don't think there has been a good season since season 15. Season 21 has had a few good episodes but look at the bad ones. They are some of the worst ever. Season 13-15 was good IMO. So was 2-9 IMO. However with the quality of the last five seasons i assume this one will be none better. Besides look at some of the plots for this season. I think they sound bad.

Judging from you post, you'll get a good laugh out of this:

haha that was quite funny simpspin.

I've noticed that recently when a new season comes out people claim that it is making a return. They say it all throughout the season and then when it's just finished. Then later they realse that it actually was pretty bad. Then a new season comes out. Once again the simpsons is making a return.

Every season since S13 there's been a 'reason' the show is returning to "Classic" quality:

    1. Al Jean is taking over from Scully!
--It worked for three seasons then went downhill FAST.

    2. The Movie is inspiring the writers to write better!
    --No, no and HELL NO!

    3. Now that the movie is over, they can get back to concentrating on the show!
--Wait, but you loony 'fans' said in reason number 2...

    4. The Simpsons are celebrating their 20th Anniversry! The Magic is back!
--Translation: People have an obsession with milestone numbers!

    5. The Simpsons in HD means the writing has improved, too!
    --Um, keep telling yourself that!

And don't forget the next batch of excuses:

    6. The 25th Season is upon us! It's a great season!
--More sycopantic love for round numbers and Zombie Simpsons!

    7. The Simpsons are in 3D! The stories have more depth!
--HA HAH HA HA HA...no, really...HA HAAHAHAHAHA

Of those, the HD one bothers me the most as it actually directly contributed to a new problem. The animation hadn't generally been that amazing in years already, but with the change we were treated to more plastic and unnatural movements than ever before.

The simpsons lost a lot of it's charm when it moved to HD. People say "there are funnier jokes now with more detail in HD". Hows that? Could you imagine a golden age episode with that animation. It would be weird and worse. The people behind the scenes need to put more effort on the jokes and episodes.

A major problem is their obsession with pop culture. So many episodes are based on things now. They take it way too far.

Also i agree people are too obsessed with milestone numbers. For instance: "They can't end it after season 22 they need to have 500 episodes. Season 22 will take it to just 493". So what you are saying is that you will put up with 6 terrible episodes to then have a 500th episode special?

That is unbelievable. They have no clue. Thursdays with abie an 8.4?
They are the ultimate "the simpsons are returning" people. In fact read their season 20 review. All of it is based on how the HD era has refreshed things.

IGN's parent company is owned by Newscorp, I think, which owns Fox.

However, the season Finale's bashing by them proves even they can only stomach so much bile!

the person who writes the reviews is an idiot. Half the tmie instead of reviewing he mentions how it's getting better and returning to classic.

They have a new upcoming title, "Elementary School Musical". And I wonder what that will be about.

All the kids go deaf dumb and blind and try to sing (insert trendy pop song from 9 months ago here) as Homer acts like an idiot with (insert guest starring pointless guest here). Comedy ensues.

Oh just what the show needs, a High School Musical style episode. Why not, the whole franchise is spreading all over the world, and the greedy execs from Disney are making money off that crappy musical. What has our generation come to?
