From the article: In "Elementary School Musical," the season premiere episode, MARGE (Julie Kavner) sends LISA (Yeardley Smith) to a performing arts camp where artsy counselors (guest voices Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie of "Flight of the Conchords") and fellow musically inclined campers (guest voices Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Amber Riley of GLEE) inspire her to embrace her creative side. After she returns to Springfield, Lisa becomes restless with her ho-hum suburban lifestyle and catches the first bus to Sprooklyn in hopes of reconnecting with her inner hipster.
My response from the NHC thread: ...You're kidding me. You have to be joking. This is Lisa we're talking about, right? You know, the most creatively-driven character of the Simpson family? And pretty much the straightest example of a hipster in Springfield? This is so OOC for her, I'm willing to bet the guy who pitched/wrote this has never seen any episodes where Lisa is more than a 'female Bart.' And Al Jean is at fault for allowing such OOC-ness reach pass the pitching stage. I expect something like this to appear in a Scully episode, but even he knew how to write for Lisa! This is blatently ignoring all the character development Lisa has had since Moaning Lisa! I can't even describe howbloody idiotic this is! This is like sending Martin to a special school to learn how to be smart! It's gratuitous and nonsensical!
