    • Dr Hibbert and Moe were at the roast even though they were arrested.

    • When Homer has a flashback of him and the family car, one of the short clips shows him in Moe's car (5F12) instead.

  • Quotes

    • Homer: (On life in the womb) Things started out great! I ate what my mother ate--and my mother loved chili!

    • Krusty: We're all here tonight for one reason… to keep Homer away from the buffet!
      Dr. Hibbert: He He He.
      Nelson: Ha ha!
      Mr. Burns: Excellent!
Homer: That was at my expense! What kind of a roast is this!?

    • Homer: Then came the day that changes every couple forever. The day we got our elephant.

    • Kang: [Homer] is the fat, selfish epitome of modern man!
Moe: (outraged) He stole my bit!
Kodos: Now we shall probe you to see if you are worthy.
Moe: (still outraged) Word for word!

    • Kodos: Ooh! Burt Reynolds and Michael Jeter!
Kang: Could an Evening Shade reunion be in the works?

    • Kodos: Gasp! There's Shannen Doherty! Didn't you have a thing with her?
      Kang: Don't go there!

    • Homer: Want a chocolate?
Wiggum: Hold it right there, Forrest Plump! This town has laws against impersonating movie characters.
      Moe: Oh Behave!
Dr. Hibbert: Luke, I am your father. Ah hee hee hee.
      Moe: Eh…Shagadelic.

    • Grandpa: I first met Homer in 1927, in a bar in Brooklyn. Little did I know that he would soon become Mrs. Joe DiMaggio.

    • (Agnes and Abe introduce more clips of Homer. Agnes is wearing a green see-through dress modeled after Jennifer Lopez, which wows Abe.)
Abe: Wow! What is holding that dress up?
Sideshow Mel: (From audience) The collective will of everyone in this room!

    • Krusty: Look, you weren't in the dress rehearsal, so you're not in the show!

    • Kang: This baby thinks of nothing but trendy Hollywood celebrities.
Kodos: We can learn much from your species.

  • Notes

    • Dan Castellaneta sings the song at the end of the episode.

    • This is only the 4th Kang and Kodos appearence in a non-Halloween episode. The first one was when Kang was seen in the alien line-up in "The Springfield Files," then they both did a brief cameo in "Behind the Laughter," then, for what seems like no reason what-so-ever, they appeared in the ending credits of "Simpson Tall-Tales."

    • This show features clips from "The Way We Was", "Take My Wife, Sleaze", "Bart Gets an Elephant", "The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson", "Faith Off", "Grift of the Magi", "Brush with Greatness", "30 Minutes Over Tokyo (twice)", "Mom and Pop Art (twice)", "Homer to the Max", "Guess who's Coming to Criticize Dinner", "Hungry Hungry Homer", "Mountain of Madness", "Little Big Mom", "The War of the Simpsons", "The Parent Rap", "Last Tap Dance of Springfield", "A Tale of 2 Springfields", "Children of a Lesser Clod", "Lisa's 1st Word", "I'm With Cupid", "They Saved Lisa's Brain", "Tree House of Horror X", "New Kids on the Blecch (twice)", "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire", "Life on the Fast Lane", "O Brother, Where Art Thou", "When Flanders Failed", "Whacking Day", "Marge vs. the Monorail", "Mr. Plow", "Deep Space Homer", "Cape Feare", "Lisa's Wedding", "A Fish Called Selma", "Marge Be Not Proud", "The Itchy & Scratchy & Poochie Show", "The Cartridge Family", "Homer's Phobia", "8 Misbehaven'", "Alone Again Natura-didd-ly", "She of Little Faith", "Weekend at Burnsie's", "Who Shot Mr. Burns (1)" and more that the contributor (surfersk8er) can't remember off the top of her head.

    • Blackboard Joke: None
Couch Gag: The couch is replaced by a giant slot machine. The slots spin and land on pictures of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa. A "7" shows up in Maggie's place and a bell sounds as coins fall out of the slot machine and onto the floor.

  • Allusions

    • Hello Kitty
The probe that Kang and Kodos use on Maggie is a "Hello Probie" brand featuring a cat. This is in reference to the popular Japanese "Hello Kitty" products.

    • The scene between Rev. Lovejoy and Ned Flanders is a reference to The Smothers Brothers, Tom and Dick. They would play the guitar and stand-up bass while Tom, the "dumb" one, would mess up the words and his brother Dick would chastise him for it.

    • :
Agnes Skinner's dress is very similar to J.Lo's controversial green dress.

    • Dan Castellaneta: "Ullman Shorts, Christmas Show..."
"They'll Never Stop The Simpsons" is a spoof of the 1989 Billy Joel hit "We Didn't Start The Fire."
