Homer becomes Springfield's most in-demand hair-stylist after discovering a talent for styling hair and opening his own salon. Unfortunately, Homer feels his talent is a curse when he has to listen to women's problems and gossip. Meanwhile, Milhouse feels that Lisa doesn't love him, but he then finds a fifth-grader named Taffy, making Lisa make a big move. Both of the plots are great. This episode had funny parts like Homer cutting Patty's hair (and then he has hair cutting talent), Milhouse's reaction about Finding Nemo, Homer trying to attempt suicide but fails, etc. Homer's plot and his antics very funny so I liked it more than the subplot. The funniest was definitley Homer running away crying and then he cutted off the bridge and said "hey, those are really good scissors." Overall, one of the funniest episode I've seen for this season. 10/10moreless
  • Homer discovers a hidden talent (again) but soon comes to realize it's more of a curse than a blessing (again). Milhouse decides he needs to profess his love for Lisa in hopes she will finally love him in return.moreless

I have said in previous reviews that I am no fan of the frequently recycled Simpsons storyline in which Homer discovers a hidden talent and then decides he wants to go back to the way things were. However I will say that "Homer Scissorhands" is one of the better of such epsiodes. The scenes of him at his newly opened salon were actually very well written and very funny. The storyline focusing on Milhouse is also well done. His musical perfomance in the school cafeteria could very well be Milhouse's funniest moment of the whole series. An episode worth seeing.moreless
  • Surprisingly Good

    9.5
I thought that this was one of the funniest episodes of the season. Which was a surprise since most of the others weren't that great so I was expecting this one to be mediocre. But I was wrong, there were alot of funny parts in the episode. The only thing that I didn't really like was the Milhouse and Taffy part but other than that it was a really good episode. 9.5/10moreless

I noticed most of the episodes on The Simpsons that have to do mostly with Homer Simpson have pretty good ratings. Better then Lisa! lmfao!! But I admit Lisa had an interesting plot and I don't think you know how long I've been waiting for Milhouse and Lisa to kiss and I surely knew that they were going to do that one day! The Homer plot was hilarious, so many funny lines and stuff hahahahahaha hah aha ha ha hah ah ah ah ah aha hah ah ah ah ahhaah hah ah ah hah ah hah ah hahah ah ah hah ah xD!!! • Milhouse: Everything is coming up Milhouse!

So Lisa is making a painting of Patty & Selma but Bart messes it up. After some sibling quarrel, they spill paint on Patty's hair, and Bart burs a whole with paint-disolving liquid. Homer comes to the rescue & cuts Patty's hair. Then Selma wants one, and soon evey woman in town wants one. Meanwhile, after watching a hidden scene in Findign Nemo his parents didn0t let him watch, Milhouse deicdes to live life to the xtreme, starting with proclaiming his love ofr Lisa. But when Lisa shoots him down, a 5th grader neamed Taffy shows up and dates him.

Homer then starts his own hairdressing gig, but is overwheled with the women's jibber jabber. He then tries to quit but people extorion him to keep on. Then at the police gala, he and Marge go and Marge says Julio did her hair to make people go to him instead of Homer. It works.

So Lisa follows Millie & Taffy to the hand holding peak were they catch her, Taffy leaves for some stupid reason. Milhouse asks how miserable shoudl he be until she's happy, and she kisses him and falls of the peak, but an eagle (WTF?) picks him up.

Overall: Great funny episode. The best was Lisa painting Bart, Milhouse with the eagle, Homer's pic with Patty and cutting the bridge, Finding Nemo, Homer shushing Maggie (who was about to talk), Moe & Wiggum's annoying noises. And Doris & Moleman? Talk about an odd pairing. But seriously, retconning how Homer lost his hair? Not cool dude. Anyways a solid 10/10.moreless

    • Show Title: Homer dressed like Aladdin on a flying carpet.
Billboard Gag: Mother's Day Special: "I'm Half Off" (with Nelson's mother suggestively pictured).
Chalkboard Gag: I do not deserve a Mother's Day gift for being "one badass mother."
Couch Gag: The family is outside the Smithsonian museum where they break in where various TV and movie props are on display, including their couch. Once inside, they sneak through various exhibits, changing into various guises to properly blend in to avoid security. When they reach the couch display, they have to avoid laser beams that will trigger the alarms, so they go in through the side of the display with gaps in the beams that enable them to pass through and finally sit on the couch.
