  • okay s21 finale

    6.0
When Moe discovers a hidden talent for judging contests, he is approached by a television agent to join the American Idol judges' panel. Moe flies to Los Angeles where he tours the Fox lot and receives some sage career advice. Meanwhile, Homer drives Marge crazy when he begins hanging around the house. Eh, this episode was a boring way to end season 21. But it was a little underrated. Critics are somewhat hating it. I liked Homer/Marge's plot better than Moe's Plot since I don't really watch American Idol. There were only a couple funny parts but I only remembered Ralph's bleeped line. As for the other plot, it was much funnier. Overall, a fair episode. 6/10moreless

This episode, IMO, was just trash. There was absolutely nothing in the episode that interested me. There was no real laugh (Except for Ralph's bleeped line), the plot was weird and crazy... the episode just stunk. This is one of the worst episodes of the series, for me at least, and I really hope that the next season doesn't top this season. Sorry to anyone who disagrees (actually I'm not, obviously it is only my opinion and if you disagree, fine), but I really disliked this episode. My overall grade is an F, no redeeming qualities at all, I didn't thinkmoreless
  • Totally dissappointed...

    1.0
As a loyal Simpsons fan, I am totally dissappointed with this episode. First off, there were not a whole lot of laughs. Second, whenever The Simpsons goes Hollywood, it sucks and it turns out to be a total trainwreck. Third, I think that there could have been better writing on their part because the whole episode did not seem like it was the season finale, but rather just another episode. Last year's season finale was better than this. I hope that this isn't what next season is going to be like because the last couple of seasons it seems like they are losing their touch and it's just not that funny.

Overall I think that this was one of the worst episodes of the season (along with the 450th ep.) I was expecting something much better than this.moreless
  • Moe goes to 'Idol' to end this season.

    8.5
This episde starts with Bart and Homer making SLH look ugly for the Ugliest Dog in springfield contest. There Krusty, as the judge, fails to entertain the contest, and Moe, who was forced to sit on the floor by the townspeople, critizices him and that makes the audience laugh. HE beocmes the judge of many contests, like a bonsai contest and a bully contest. He is approached by a FOX Excec. to become a judge in FOX's only remianig contest show: AMERICAN IDOL.

Meanwhile Homer spends a lot of time at home, and after making a super-spice out of all the spices, Marge hyper-ventilates and tries to find Homer a new pub. In LA, Simon Cowell gives Moe adivce: "Do not become the mean judge, because he won't have friends". He made a compliation of the people's opinion on Moe (Ralph's was bleeped, LOL). Marge takes Homer to a sports pub. But diehard sport fans tease Homer for his lack of knowledge so he goes back to the house. Grandpa suggest Marge to take Homer golfing.

Lisa gives SLH a speech to make him feel better aout winning the Ugliest Dog contest and plays with her. An eldery golfer tells Marge about how golfing ruined his family life, and that he was missing his daughters wedding in that moment. Marge freaks and to make Homer forget about him, she humps him hard. At the 'Idol' show, Moe gives the contestant a good review, but Simon says that Moe's comment was a desperate attempt to gain fans, so Moe, angrily menaces Simon with a bottle and he is fired from 'Idol', he can't judge anything again and he can transmit FOX anymore. This, ironically, bring Rupert Murdoch into the tavern. this wasn't bad, but wasn't great either, it was in the middle of the road. The best comes from Lisa popping in Moe's tavern and in Homer and Moe's thougth bubbles offering Moe and Simon Band Candy, LOLmoreless
  • The twenty first season ends with Moe becoming a guest judge on "American Idol" with a chance of being named Simon Cowell's replacement. With Moe away, Homer begins to spend more time at home...which Marge can't stand.moreless

    5.0
I laughed quite a bit as I watched this episode. The episode has more than its share of clever dialouge and good laughs. However, in the end I was disappointed by this episode. It follows the same plot formula we have all seen countless times throughout the run of the series. I knew right away that Marge would soon regret trying to get Homer out of the house and that Moe's first guest spot on "American Idol" would be his last. There will definitely be two more seasons of "The Simpsons." I hope we don't see this plot formula again.moreless

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • Goof: Just after the family arrives at the pet fair and Homer and Bart turn off to the Ugly Dog contest, the faraway shot of Lisa shows her pearls colored red like Marge's just before the closeup shot shows them colored white.

  • QUOTES (1)

    • Lisa: Mr. Flanders, how did you make these amazing fish?
Ned Flanders: Actually, God made some fish that were pretty close to these so naturally we selected those for further breeding.
Lisa: So that natural selection was the origin of this species?
Ned Flanders: Yep, that's exactly--(laughs) You almost got me.
(Fish grows legs, crawls out of water, and starts breathing air)
Ned Flanders: Not on my watch (pushes it back into water)

  • NOTES (1)

    • Show Title: Ned Flanders flying upward as an angel with wings.
Billboard Gag: Krusty's One-Year Sobriety Special (with the word "CANCELED" in red over a drunken Krusty pictured).
Blackboard Gag: End of Lost: It was all the dog's dream. Watch us.
Lisa: In the music room scene, she's playing a trumpet instead of her saxophone.
Couch Gag: A mock setup of the living room is seen as Homer and Bart are putting on a puppet show. The puppet versions of them are slapping each other around before Bart's puppet begins clubbing Homer's before the camera pans down to show the real Homer strangling his son.
