Aired Sunday 8:00 PM Apr 18, 2004 on FOX

  • Trivia

    • Lisa worries that Skinner may try to run at his wedding because she sees him doing calf stretches, but the moves he's doing actually stretches the quads and hamstrings, not the calves.

    • There is, a DC villian named Catman (Thomas Blake). He first appeared in Detective Comics #11 in January 1963.

    • After Principal Skinner drinks his duff at the bachelor party, it is full in the next scene

    • In the shot right before Homer asks to use Marge's car, they show Homer's car fine in the driveway. After he asks to use her car, the car is turned upside-down on the lawn.

Homer: She sure loves that couch.

Skinner: Homer, you're still talking to me.
Homer: Oh man, is this awkward.

    • Bart: (to Skinner) Why are you dressed as Catwoman?
Skinner: They told me it was Catman!

So pleeeeeeease come back to the dork!

      Grandpa: They drug us.

      Marge: I do.
Homer: Marge, you just agreed to raise the kids Klingon!
      Marge: D'Oh!

  • Notes

    • Marge and Homer get re-married for a third time.

    • Comic Book Guy has a Superman tatto on his backside.

    • When Skinner says "Bart was right, I am a wiener." he is referring back to when Bart spray painted that in the first season episode "Bart the Genius", which was the second episode ever.

    • Comic Book Guy has his second love affair in the show (since Agnes Skinner in "Worst Episode Ever").

    • This episode was originally supposed to air on April 4, 2004, but (it is speculated) that due to the voice actors/actresses going on strike, FOX aired a rerun instead.

    • Series creator Matt Groening stars as himself in this episode, but since he can't be identified as the creator of "The Simpsons" (for obvious reasons) he's introduced as the creator of "Futurama."

    • Blackboard Joke: None.
Couch Gag: The family enters the living room via a Play-Doh Fun Factory® die and each member is rendered in a different color Play-Doh® at their respective place on the couch. Homer is yellow, Marge is orange, Lisa is green, Maggie is red and Bart is lavender.

  • Allusions

    • Marge: You meet the worst kind of guys when you're on the rebound. That's how Jackie got her O.

Marge seems to be referring to Jacqueline Kennedy, who some years after the death of her husband president John F. Kennedy married Aristotle Onassis, a Greek shipping tycoon. Afterward she was sometimes referred to as Jackie O. By the way, Jackie O's maiden name was Bouvier, the same as Marge.

    • Skinner: Oh, they told me it was Catman!
Skinner wears the same costume Michelle Pfeiffer wore in the 1992 film Batman Returns to play the Catwoman.

    • Comic Book Guy: Edna, the Klingons have a romantic saying...
Klingons are a race of humanoids in the Star Trek universe. They were the main villains in Star Trek: The Original Series and later became the allies of the United Federation of Planets.

    • Skinner: You'll be my Cyrano?
Cyrano de Bergerac was a real person whose life was documented in a play by Edmond Rostand. Cyrano is best known for his exceptionally large nose. This play, revolves around Cyrano's love for Roxanne, but because of his less attractive looks he helps his friend to conquer her. The scene where Homer hides in the bushes telling Skinner what he has to say was taken from the play.

    • Edna: It's like I'm DC Comics and you're Marvel.
Mrs. Krabappel explains how she and Comic Book Guy are different by comparing the two major superhero comic distributers.

    • Barney's "sponsor": Drink...or I'll die!
Barney, back on the sauce, sees a giant white rabbit he talks to and calls "my sponsor". This is a reference to Jimmy Stewart's six-foot-tall lagomorph pal in the 1950 film "Harvey."

    • Lenny: Oooh, the creator of Futurama.
Matt Groening did create the cult animated show in 1999. Does Lenny know about Groening's other show?

    • :
When The Comic Book Guy says the word "Square" to Principal Skinner, he draws a square in the air with his finger. Uma Thurman did the same thing in Quentin Tarantino's movies "Pulp Fiction" and "Kill Bill Volume 1".

    • :
The name of this episode is a play on the title of the play/movie "My Big, Fat Greek Wedding."
