This is another great episode from Season 2. It is about Principal Skinner going on a date with Patty while Selma goes on a date with Barney Gumble. But in the end they both wanted to stay alone and Principal Skinner is making sure that Bart is doing a field right and Willie (First Appearance) says I told you you'll be back.
  • Homer tries to fix up Marge's sister Selma with a man.

    9.3
When Marge's sister Selma sadly tells Lisa she's wishing she could find a man, Marge puts Homer to work trying to fix her sister up. Homer rejects various suitors as unsuitable, but when called into a meeting with Bart's Principal, Skinner, Homer realizes that he would make a ideal candidate. Homer invites Skinner to dinner, but instead of Selma, Principal Skinner falls for her sister Patty. He is so smiten he lets Bart get away with burning his name in the grass, while lonely Selma gets even more disconsolate. Ultimately, Patty rejects Skinner leaving Selma pleased, while a bitter Skinner takes out his rejection on Bart.
  • Marge's sister, Selma, wanted to have a husband. Homer thinks that Skinner would be suitable.

One of my favorite episodes. This is the second season episode where Moe gets pranked.

Here are some interesting elements for this episode. Homer uses his sight to find a perfect man for Selma.

Here are some hilarious elements. Bart uses a chemical to puts his name on the school garden. Skinner notices that and shouts "Simpson!". Bart thinks that there are other Barts doing that but there is only one Bart. Bart makes a prank call for Homer Sexual. It means "homosexual". When Moe shouts out that one of the customers gotta be homosexual, they laughed at him. Moe says "You rotten little punk! If I ever get a hold of you, I'll sink my teeth into your cheek and rip your face off!" Skinner asks him where Homer is. Moe apologizes, claiming it to be a bad connection.
  • I felt really bad for Selma in this episode

    8.7
Selma, feeling lonely, decides she wants a husband. Marge sends Homer on a hunt for the perfect man, and he picks Principal Skinner. Skinner arrives at the Simpsons house, and Homer unknowingly introduces him to Patty, instead of Selma. Skinner falls in love at first sight, and the two start dating, leaving Selma in more despair than ever. When Selma discovers that Skinner plans on asking Patty to marry him, she starts dating the only guy left... Barney. Patty sees Selma's emotional despair and turns down Seymour's proposal. Both couples break up. Great episode just thought it was very sad for Selma.
  • One of the more underrated episodes of season 2.

Selma tells Marge that she wants a boyfriend. Marge tells Homer to find one for Selma. Homer has difficulty finding one, but soon runs into Principal Skinner, and invites him to dinner to make up for "all the crummy things" Bart did to his school. Skinner accepts, and Homer introduces him to Selma - or so he thinks. Skinner instantly falls in love with Patty. After a few dates, Patty tells him that she cares for her sister more than he loves him. Principal Skinner, after letting Bart getting off on a lot of stuff for being Patty's nephew, finally gets back to treating him he used to.

"Principal Charming" is one of the more underrated episodes of season 2. A very solid episode.
  • one of the first episodes to not focus on a simpson family member

    8.2
this episode was a good one especially the terminator scene where homer is examining all the men he sees including "Pros: smoker, cons: just a sign", "Pros: nice stride, cons: complete stranger" and "pros: hates the boy, cons: possible homersexual" and one of bart's prank calls. this episode was misleading although it wasn't at the time. this episode focused on the relationship between seymour skinner and patty bouvier who, in later seasons, will turn out to be gay. despite this, they break up for a different reason and skinner, as usual, blames bart and punishes him with grounskeeper willie triumphantly stating "i told ya you'd be back". this episode was alright seeing as it was the first to focus on a non-main character.
  • A decent episode.

Marge's sister Selma seeks a husband, so Marge orders Homer to help in finding one. Things go wrong though, when Homer invites Principal Skinner over for dinner and Skinner instead falls for Selma's twin sister Patty.
