    Disappointed in Yale becoming too politically correct, Mr. Burns starts his own for-profit university, and he hires Homer to be one of its professors. But that promise is cut short when the university is bought out by Bourbon Verlander, a billionaire and collage owner who wants to use Homer's teaching skills for nefarious purposes.

    Marge consults parenting "experts" for advice when she suspects that Bart is heading down the road to failure. Meanwhile, Homer opens up a trophy store in Springfield; and Grandpa gifts Bart with a valuable watch, one that Homer's had his eye on.

    Bart transitions from class troublemaker to star basketball player at Springfield Elementary, while Lisa chronicles his success for the school paper and Homer takes over as team coach. But things take a bad bounce when Bart gets involved with the mafia. The episode is a parody of cable-sports programs.

    A traumatic incident at Kamp Krustier sends Bart and Lisa home early, where they are responsible for some parentes interruptus. So, without the distraction of sex, Homer turns into a more productive worker and caring husband, but Marge longs for the old Homer. Meanwhile, Bart and Lisa head back to camp to face the source of their trauma.

    Bart's betrayal of Lisa leaves him having to deal with the guilt. Meanwhile, Homer proves to be a chess savant, leaving the Springfield citizenry in awe.

    Fast-food restaurants in Springfield turn healthy, leaving Homer to turn to a greasy spoon for comfort (food), and childhood memories come flooding back. Meanwhile, Lisa scrambles for a special news story in order to save the school radio station.

    As Mr. Burns reminisces about his past life at his estate at Middle Hampton, he decides to relive it by throwing a lavish party there as he used to do very frequently. He asks for Homer's assistance with the party. Homer in turn invites his family. While the party is in session, Burns and Homer see another and more lavish party being held at an estate across the river. They go to the party and meet the estate's owner, a rapper and mogul named Jay G. Burns and Jay establish a friendship. However that friendship soon falls apart.

    Marge's obsession with a Japanese-style of living requires the family to ditch items that no longer bring them joy, including Lisa's beloved saxophone, and forcing Homer to find a home for the family pig.

    Homer gets stuck coaching a kids' lacrosse team with Milhouse's friendless father, Kirk, and when Kirk becomes too clingy, Homer bad-mouths him about being a loser. But Kirk overhears the rant and disappears, right before the championship game.

    In this collection of 3 Springfield tales, Bart and Lisa investigate Krusty's new "Krustaceans" candy, while Homer asks Marge to help him dress for a promotion at the nuclear plant and Kent Brockman deals with the changing media world.

    "Treehouse of Horror XXVII" features Mr. Burns organizing a Hunger Games-style contest pitting Springfield children against each other and Lisa's imaginary best friend killing Lisa's real friends in a fit of jealousy, while Moe recruits Bart to take Homer's place as a covert agent.

    Bart rooting for Springfield's football rival, the Boston Americans, sets off Homer, so he schedules a family "hate-cation" excursion to Beantown to show just how horrible the city is.

    Mr. Burns' search for a clan to play his virtual-reality family leads him to hire the Simpsons, except for Homer, since Burns intends to play the father. With nothing to do, Homer befriends the new next-door neighbor, a woman who eats, drinks, thinks and acts like him.

    Springfield burns to the ground, so the Simpsons plead with Mr. Burns to finance the town's rebuilding. But he demands the town folk put on a variety show at the Springfield Bowl. However, the upcoming event brings back bad memories for the old man, who bombed when he first performed there 100 years ago. Burns tries to muster up the courage to perform again in an effort to redeem himself.
