Bart and Lisa are appalled by the Itchy and Scratchy cartoons and are convinced they can do better. They send in a script, but are rejected for being kids. So, they use Grampa's name, Abraham Simpson, and start writing for the show.

great episode. i liked homer and marge at their reunion, the ending to the episode, The Ned Flanders short, Grampa being appalled by Itchy and Scratchy after accepting his award, amonst other things. A+ episode, definitely

  • this was a good ep

in this ep of the simpsons bart and lisa want to send there ideas to itch and scaty cartoon and so they do but turns out that there work is rejected by the writters and so they get grampa simpson to put his name on the work that they make and the writters accept the work and grampa ends up winning a award for his work. and then grampa gets his award taking and starts acting senial when he finds out that he has been putting his name down on cartoons . this was funny ep i tought and it was made really well by the writters
  • Add a senial grandpa to cartoons= An amazing episdoe

Convinced they can write better Itchy & Scratchy scripts than the writers who currently work on the cartoon, Bart and Lisa set out to write their own shows. Their scripts are rejected by Roger Meyers, the show's producer, until Bart and Lisa use Grandpa's name as their pseudonym. As "Abraham Simpson," the kids are hired to write for the show and eventually win an Emmy award for their work. At the awards, Grandpa accepts his Emmy from Brooke Shields, but goes up to the podium and makes a rambling, anti-cartoon speech that gets him fired. Guest star: Brooke Shields as herself.
  • Good show.

This episode was very good. Bart and Lisa start writing shows for Itchy and Scratchy and putting their grandpa's name on them. Grandpa starts getting checks and etc. It is a very funny episode. This one has more of Grandpa in it, which is one of my fav. characters! I would like to see more episodes like this one! 9.0/10!
  • bart and lisa write itchy and scratchy cartoons under abe's name

every kids dream: to work on a cartoon. well, bart and lisa do on this episode, writing hilarious sketches like Little Barbershop of Horrors for the cat and mouse team of scratchy and itchy to perform. this episode was clearly made for the jokes which is not a bad thing, especially when it comes to scenes such as bart, lisa and roger meyers walking along the same backdrop and abe's expression when he sees itchy and scratchy for the first time is priceless. i will end this review with one of my favourite quotes from the episode:
Lisa: didn't you wonder why you were getting cheques for doing absolutely nothing?
Abe: I figured that the democrats were back in power.
