  • Bart and Nelson become best frenemies

    10
After being forced to attend Nelson's birthday party, Bart becomes best friends with the schoolyard bully. Meanwhile, Homer develops a big interest with one of Lisa's fantasy books. I thought that this was a perfect episode of "The Simpsons". It had a very nice storyline and a lot of humor to really enjoy. I love the aspect of Bart and Nelson actually becoming friends with each other and how Bart joined Nelson's gang. The subplot with Homer reading a book to Lisa which is a parody of Harry Potter was hilarious as well especially when the Homer read the ending of the book and then the man on the tree says "Thanks for the spoilers" then throws the book at Homer. I also thought it was very nice when Homer made up the ending of the book so it can have a happy ending for Lisa instead of a sad ending with a character being dead. Homer wanting to finish the book but Lisa told him to wait til' tomorrow is funny as well. I'm surprised that Homer can read a whole chapter book :D haha. This episode is definitely worth checking out for all of you Simpsons fans out there. Overall, a perfect episode of "The Simpsons". 10/10moreless
  • Nelson and Bart are friends and then enemies

    10
In this episode, Bart convinces everyone not to go to Nelson's birthday party in order to show him that they don't like him. However, Marge finds out and forces Bart to go to the party. When he gets there, he is virtually the only guest there, so he becomes Nelson's new best friend. He then gets protection from everyone else, until Nelson becomes egoistic, then Bart begins to rethink everything. Meanwhile Homer and Lisa begin to read a Harry Potter esque book, and when Homer reads ahead, he learns that one of the main characters dies, but he doesn't want Lisa to know, should he lie. Overall, a very good episode, well worth watching. 10/10 A+moreless
  • Awesome! Just awesome!

    9.5
This has to be the funniest Simpsons episode in a while. In fact from whatever amount of episodes I've seen of this cartoon, this is easily the best one! It is borderlining the use of popular culture to that of Family Guy, but doesn't cross that fine line where it uses it excessively. References to Goodfellas, Brokeback Mountain, Harry Potter, but unlike Family Guy not only do they utilize these references to popular culture, the episode utilizes well! Not to mention plenty of original gags and jokes can be found too, such as Dolph, Kearney, and Jimbo Jones bullying infants in their sleep. It wasn't all humour though; the ending to the sidestory of Lisa and Homer's Harry Potter parody concluded super well; how Homer lied to Lisa about the ending of the book in order to try and preserve her happiness, and then Lisa reading the actual ending and liking Homer's version of the ending, it was really sweet. Overall this is one of the best episodes I've seen in a while not only The Simpsons, but overall. No wonder this episode won an award.moreless
  • Great Episode

When Marge makes Bart go to Nelson's birthday party, Bart realizes his party isn't half bad. Besideds the fact that noone showed up. On Monday, Nelson makes Bart his new best friend. Bart is reluctant at first, but hanging out with Nelson has its preivelages. Bart never gets beat up, and he gets special seating at lunchtime. But when Nelson catches Bart flying kites with Milhouse, he's back to being bully Nelson.

Meanwhile, Homer starts reading a parody of Harry Potter with Lisa, but when Homer reads ahead and finds out Lisa's favorite character dies. So Homer must make sure she never finds out the end.

Pretty funny episode, probably the best of Season 18.

  • I loved Homer's end for Angelica Button at the end even though it parodies my favourite series and films it was funny
