The Way We Weren't
AIRED:
Homer and Bart get into a fight over using a beer bottle to kiss girls which land them in Simpson family court, where Lisa presides as judge. While giving testimony Marge tells the kids that Homer's first kiss was with her in high school. He confesses that it wasn't his first kiss. Back when he was ten he went to camp See-A-Tree (for underprivileged boys). Here he meets Lenny, Carl and Moe. The boys go to the girl's camp where they work in the kitchen. After Homer returns the retainer to the girl who lost it he gets the opportunity to meet her later that night. He tells the kids she was the prettiest girl he'd ever seen, until he later met their mother. Marge reveals that the girl was her. Marge tells the story from her perspective. At the girls camp, Land-A-Man, we find Marge, Patty, Selma, Helen (Lovejoy), Cookie Kwan. When she met Homer that it was she who first kisses him and then they have the perfect kiss. They agree to meet again the following night, but Homer doesn't show. Marge says it was years before she could trust another boy. Homer explains why he didn't return for a second date. After he left her he fell off a cliff into the lake and drifted to the shores of "Camp Flab-Away," which featured Quimby, Wiggum and Comic Book Guy as some of the overweight campers. Homer manages to escape and gets to Marge's camp, but arrives after she's left. Now that Marge knows the truth Homer hopes for her forgiveness. She doesn't believe he really cared all those years ago, until he pulls the other piece of her broken heart out of his memory box.moreless

  • The story of how Homer and Marge met each other and shared their first kiss

    10
I thought that this was an excellent episode of "The Simpsons". This is definitely one of the best Season 15 episodes that I have ever seen. It was very interesting to how Homer and Marge met each other and shared their first kiss. The beginning of the episode made me laugh very hard when Bart and Millhouse with the two other girls are playing "spin the bottle" with Homer's beer bottle. Millhouse about to kiss a girl but accidentally kisses Homer instead made me laugh so hard especially when Homer freaks out about Millhouse kissing him. Of course, Homer strangling Bart never gets old for me no matter how many times he does it. The Simpsons family then decides to have a family court. Marge told the whole family that she and Homer met each other in high school and they shared their first kiss there. Homer tells Marge that he actually met a girl before Marge so this is where Homer tells the story. It turns out the girl that Homer had a first kiss with was Marge but Marge didn't know it was Homer because Homer didn't tell Marge his real name when they met each other in camp. Homer and Marge have a date in some forest and they begin to kiss which they experience an amazing spark. Homer tells Marge to meet him in the forest the next day but Homer never showed up which broke Marge's heart and made her never trust a guy again. Homer didn't show up that day because it turns out that he fell off the cliff and ended up in fat camp. Homer being in fat camp made me laugh very hard. This episode was not only interesting but it was also very funny. After Homer tells the story on why he never showed up the next day back when he and Marge were kids in camp, Marge doesn't know if she will ever forgive Homer for breaking her heart back when they were kids. Homer then shows the half-broken heart from the rock heart that he made for Marge back in camp. Marge kept the other half of the rock heart. Homer and Marge put the rock heart together and they make up. Overall, an excellent episode of "The Simpsons". 10/10moreless

in a flashback styled episode we see homer and marge met each other at camp, when they agree to go on a date. but they agree to go on another and homer never shows, breaking marge's heart. then homer tells his side of the story and reveals that he got sent away to fat camp. now that the truth is out in the open, homer hopes marge will forgive him, but at first she doesn't. later she realizes how homer always loved her and they make up.

one of the funnier s15 episodes In my opinion. Overall grade- an Amoreless
  • We see Homer and Marge's first kiss.

    9.5
During a "family court" session, Homer and Marge wistfully recall the story of their first kiss at summer camp, and how Homer first met Lenny, Carl, and Moe. In this episode we get a glimpse at most of Springfield's more prominent citizens back when they were children. This IMO is a very forgotten and underrated episode. I always loved the Simpsons flashback episode and this one delivered quite well. It was cute to see that Marge and Homer still had feelings even when they were very young! Bottom line: this was a wonderful episode that deserves your time to watch it.moreless
  • This episode may not have had a joke every five minutes, but because of the great humor when it did happen and a great story line this episode was great.

In this episode we get a glimpse at most of Springfield's more prominent citizens back when they were children. This episode also reveals the famous Homer and Marge's first kiss as children... This episode had a great storyline..... I really enjoyed seeing the Springfirld citizen's as kids!!!! So far Season 15 may make The Simpsons history as one of the best or if not the best Simpsons season in the history of the show....moreless
  • A very underatted Simpsons episode.

    10
In two ways this episode of The Simpsons is way underatted. This episode started great and ended great, from biggining to end shale I say. This was the lowest watched episode in Simpsons history which only scored 6.2 million viewers. This episode was very well written I mean it started out with Bart spinning the bottle with his friends and beer falls into Homers mouth. It was classic when Homer kisses Milhouse and then a funny scence with Homer strangling Bart. This winds up with Homer telling a story of his first kiss but he never knew his first kiss was with Marge when they were little. This leads to some many funny jokes in the dreams where the cool aid guy with Homer inside drinking it all the he collapses which I found really funny. To end this up I say this was a really underatted episode of season 15 and diserves more credit.moreless
