Episode Summary

EDIT

Marge encourages Homer to embrace his “you-only-live-once” (aka YOLO) spirit by inviting his old pen pal, Eduardo (Hank Azaria), to stay with him and knock off his “to-do” list from when he was a 10-year old. Meanwhile, Lisa (Yeardley Smith) institutes a new honor code at Springfield Elementary.

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (0)

    • QUOTES (4)

      • Homer: Eduardo? Is it really you? Why are you here?
Eduardo: To save the soul of Homer Simpson!! Now where is he, old man?
        Homer: I'm Homer Simpson!
Eduardo: Ay, dios mio! What has happened to you? Did your hair burn off in a fire that trapped you in a candy factory?
        Homer: I wish

      • Homer: Marge, if you don't mind, I'm gonna quit complaining about my life and start wallowing in the past.
Marge: Postage marked in pesetas? Who are these letters from?
Homer: My old pen pal from Spain. Eduardo. Back in fifth grade, you either had to write to a foreigner or a prisoner. I picked a foreigner because the prisoners wrote back too fast. We'd write each other with our dreams of the future. I was gonna be King of Cheeseburger Mountain. Did I change or did they stop making mountains out of cheeseburgers? Probably a little bit of both.

      • Kirk: Just 'cause I bought a new car, lost a little weight and started taking a DJ class, everyone thinks I'm having a midlife crisis!

      • Homer: (writing a letter) Buenos dias, Eduardo. Can you write me back and tell me what that means?

    • NOTES (1)

      • Show Title:  Seen through crosshairs as Bart laughs when he shoots it with (hopefully) a pellet gun and the title shatters to pieces and a portion of the James Bond (007) theme is played.
Billboard Gag:  Santa' Lap--The line is already forming!  Springfield Mall--Never leave! (with a mall Santa Claus seated with a child on his lap and several others in line)
Chalkboard Gag:  My school schedule does not include a bye week.
Couch Gag:  Seeming to parody the 2010 movie Inception, Maggie's the only one who's able to sit on the couch by running on the floor, while the others are seen standing on the door, walls and ceiling.  With piano music playing in the background Marge, Bart, and Lisa battle gravity and each other to sit.  They then try to help Homer and he tries to drop down from the ceiling, but reverse gravity launches him skyward.
