  • Steve's predictable love

    7.5
The title says it all in "Lost Love". Boy finds lost love, rekindles love, then loses love again. This was rather predictable every step of the way. I did however like that for a change, it was not just some fling that Steve was going after. She really meant a lot to him. There is also a blooper that I found. Thugs are tying him up to a post in the basement. As they are putting him up against it I could see where the post was going to break in half (and almost did as they were tying him to it).moreless
  • Mrs. Thatcher and Me.

    7.3
Is this part three of the 'Steve Austin and the woman' trilogy? It seems so.

This is the third episode in a row where all the attention goes to a female character. This time it's all about Mrs. Thatcher. (No, not THE Margaret Thatcher!) Linda Marsh plays Barbara, a former love of Steve, now the widow of Dr. Orin Thatcher, who disappeared in a plane crash. This is the perfect occasion to further sketch out Austin's love- and private live.

After the romantic walks around Washington, all is not what it seems while this cleaverly written story twists itself to the end. Sadly the actors are not up to the same level. The acting in the second roles is plainly awfull.

Ditto for the 'special' effects which are at a series low. In a completely unnecessary scene, where the bionic man jumps over a car, they didn't even bother to hide the wires...

With a good story as this, it's a shame the director didn't care to make some effort.

It turns out Barbara wasn't a widow after all. Better luck next time, Steve.moreless
