No Sophomore Slump in season two.

I have to say I thought the last episode of season one was a great one. The first episode of the second season continues with its great writing and acting. In the second season we are saddled with less character introduction and immersed in great character development. While there are new characters, all of the main character return from season one. In the first episode we get to see the return of Big Puss and Janice. We are shown that mafia is not just about drugs, guns and prostitution but also bigger and cleverer schemes like a brokerage house. We also get to see more of the personal side of Dr Melfi. Tony is the same great character with a bigger role to play in New Jersey now.moreless

Not the best return from the ending of Season One, but it was a solid episode. This episode is trying to show us change from Season One. In Season one Tony was respected, but lower in the chain of command then his role today. Now he runs things and he has guys who are trying to even get the chance to meet with him. His relationship with his wife is an interesting one to me, with a lot of disconnection between the two right now. I thought near the end of the episode that the two might try and get a connection back, but I havent felt anything from that connection since the later parts of Season One. Overall, I thought the episode was solid but not what I expect from a season preimere. This is the episode they have prepared the most and had on their mind the longest, I was hoping for something a little bit better.moreless
