A new villain is in town and his name is Mysterio.

I was really surprised I never really found the comic version of Mysterio that threatening or interesting, but the latin dialogue and his persona really work in cartoon form, though I'd question live action panning out the same.

The cameo of Stan Lee was good "Don't you hate it when you put your tongue on the side of the ship and it sticks there" and "Are we being punked, I hate that".

Nice gag that didn't take up too much time.

This also marks the first appearance of the Tinkerer and The Master Planner(the Tinkerer's voices was rather annoying). Tink was in the last season episode "Persona" but he didn't speak.

Love the flamboyant feel and the all around weirdness.

Mysterio debuts.

Mysterio has always been one of my favorite Spider Man characters. The illusionist and former Hollywood special FX man (a little cheesy, but still kinda unique) provided a fun use for Spider Man's Spider sense, and there are some great jokes here. What keeps the episode down a bit is that Mysterio didn't seem very dangerous, he was basically played a bit more goofy or gimmicky than in the 90s series. I'm slightly disappointed by this.

The holidays are fast approaching and there was a nice note on Spiderman trying to stay warm in his costume. Nice touch- also cool- a STAN LEE cameo! Moving into the realm of cartoons, now? the guy never quits!moreless

- Mysterio:
  First appeared in Amazing Spider-Man #13. Quentin Beck was a former master of Hollywood special effects until he selfishly wanted more in life. Realizing the best way to be famous was to take out a superhero, he chose the recent superhero, Spider-Man. Unfotunately, he underestimated the wall-crawler and vowed to defeat him. Though without superpowers, Mysterio can use his tricks and illusions to fool anyone without Spider-Man's spider-sense.
