  • Mark Allen has a bad day.

    9.0
OK maybe I should say a bad day that became good for a bit and then got really bad,oh never mind.Mark Allen starts missing school and a worried Liz tells Peter that Mark owes $5000 to his bookie so Peter tries to help him as Spider-man. but due to playing guinea pig unknowingly for the Green Goblin he is transformed in to Molten man and is forced into killing Spider-man.the episode is told in flashbacks so it starts at almost the end so the episode.I feel a bit sorry for mark even tho it was partly his fault he did not deserve what happened to him.

lastly I have to say it was a depressing but it still was a really enjoying episode and that was is why I love this show.moreless
  • A neat storytelling technique that gets a bit confusing due to over-usage

    8.0
I really liked the flashback storytelling technique. Much like my favorite show, Lost. Although it can be a bit confusing at the start because all the chaos is already going on and we're like, "how did we get here?" There's another scene later in the ep that flashes either right after a flash, or it's a flash within a flash, I'm not sure (showing how MJ and Liz got there). But other than that it was a sad fate for Liz' brother Mark, how turned into I guess some golden flaming dude that I'm not familiar with. Still, I enjoyed the ep. Not sure this sort of criminal underbelly lifestyle fits the Green Goblin though.moreless

    • Spider-Man: Look, I don't want to hurt you.
Molten Man: Feeling's mutual. Yet, here we are.

    • Spider-Man: (Referring to Molten Man) Is that an Oscar with my name on it? I was thinking Emmy, but spiders can't be choosers.

    • Professor Miles Warren: (To Norman Osborn) I reviewed Doctor Octavius' notes on creating Super Mercenaries with sub-dermal armor... The theory's sound, but his method of introducing the sub-dermal particles led to the "lab accident" known as Sandman. The key is nanotechnology. One simple infusion of microscopic nanobots and the particles can be evenly distributed throughout the subject.
Blackie Gaxton: ...Whatever, knock yourself out, Doc.

  • NOTES (1)

    • Molten Man
First Appearance in Amazing Spider-Man #28, Mark Raxton, the stepbrother of Liz Allen, was a scientist who stole an experimental liquid alloy from Spencer Smythe only to get covered in it. Afterwards, his skin became molten and became covered in flames. Desiring a cure, Molten Man committed many crimes to find it, only to be stopped constantly by Spider-Man.
