I used to like Steve and his show until it started regressing to where it is now, the same level as The Jerry Springer Show. Complete with chair throwing and guests becoming involved in physical altercations, the only difference being is that so far, Steve does not allow his guests to beat on each other.

I admired that Steve took the hard cases and wanted honest and truthful answers and that he helped people who wanted to beat addictions, wrongful criminal convictions and help battered women and children.

Recently, I have seen a change in Steve. Now, Steve will "pick" a "side" in these arguments/disagreements, usually early on and from that point he refuses to listen with an open mind, like Police Officers are trained to do, and instead will actually start to belittle the guests. This has become his trademark lately. It is not the trademark of someone who was once a police officer.

Additionally, polygraph examinations are not entirely accurate. They are an interpretation by the examiner. Only God knows if you are really lieing or not and some very highly trained experts, which I do not consider Steve's examiner one of. DNA, on the other hand does not lie. So what we have is a test being used and possibly manipulated, to further incite reactions from guests and get them screaming and yelling at each other even more.

Every Police Officer, regardless of where she or he comes from, commands respect by giving it and controls situations by not allowing people to scream and yell. Perhaps Steve feels it enhances his show and his image.

This Police Officer will not be watching any more and many of my fellow officers say the same. So when Steve Wilkos tells you that "Policemen" watch his show all the time, that is not true, and we refer to ourselves as Police Officers - not "Policemen".
