In the episode guide, and everytime i look at refrences, it says that Hotel Hangout was the first episode, but doesn't it seem like Grounded on the 23rd Floor was the pilot episode?

Grounded was supposed to be the first ep but they showed Hotel Hangout first out of order. DC does that a lot.

Yeah Nicole but the kid was asking which was supposed to be the pilot ep. Thr pilot ep was supposed to be Grounded on the 23rd floor, but they showed Hotel Hangout 1st instead. We both gave him the same answer though ^^^^.

Ya Grounded on the 23rd floor makes more sense cause at the beginning it even plays music like they are introducing the Tipton for the first time! But for whatever reason Disney didn't want to do it like that...

I always consider "Grounded" to be the first episode regardless of what the officials say. For one thing, Dylan and Cole look alot younger - supposedly 11yo. I'd say this pilot was shot at least 3-6 months before the others. And, it's obviously the first for many reasons:

    • Maddie isn't wearing her standard uniform - just a frumpy outfit that they quickly (and thankfully) dumped for all future shows.
    • A different Esteban bell-boy guy that was never seen again.
    • A conversation with the boys where Carey says how lucky they were to be in this new home after having to live at their gramma's.
    • When Carey mentioned getting the "candy counter girl" to babysit for them and Zack said something like "ooooh, baby's got it goin' on.".
