Episode Summary

The ship is struck by lightning when it crosses the International Dateline, which places Cody in the same day over and over. He tries to use each day as a chance to let Bailey know how he feels about her, but something gets in the way every time. • The Suite Life is interrupted by the international dateline and Cody gets an extreme sense of "deja vu". The boys have got to play the day over and over again until Cody gets his first dance with Bailey right, which isn't going to be easy.moreless

I loved this episode! So far, it is the best one of the series. It has an original plot and funny consequences. I love the funny relationship between Cody and Bailey, they were meant to be together! Its about time Cody got a decent girlfiend, usually its all about Zack. I loved the part when Cody and Bailey danced, even though he didn't get to in the end. I say this episode would be the starter point for Cody and Bailey's relationship, well Cody's crush on Bailey and Bailey not knowing until later in the series. It guarantees there will be many more laughs between the two to come.moreless
  • Cody goes back in time over and over again when the international date line is crossed. He thought it was fate giving him and Bailey a chance, but is it really?moreless

AWWWWWWWWW!!!!!! That's exactly what I thought when I saw this episode. Cody is such a romantic. He really wants things to work out with him and Bailey. I think they'd be cute together. I just love the whole idea of this episode. It's so creative on the writer's part. Not that the idea is totally original, but because of how the thought was presented. I mean, lol, London..... The teacher was all "London can you tell me what the international date line is?" and cody screams out "nooooooooo" because he went back in time again and the teacher agrees with him saying London probably didn't know the answer. funny stuff. lol. i loved this episode. I thought I wasn't going to like Suite Life on Deck as much as the original show without Ashley Tisdale, but truth be told, I like Debby Ryan a LOT better. She just seems like a down to earth girl, and she's a very good actress. Nice work new girl, and great episode.moreless
  • Anyone else notice?

First I'll say this; I liked the episode.

But did anyone else see the plot hole?

Lightening strikes as the SS Tipton crosses the international date line, causing it to replay the day over and over,???

As the state in at the start of the episode, the date line is an imaginary line at shows the point where you have to set your watches back or forward.

So how does an imaginary line on a map do this?, even in Sitcom terms this doesn't make any sense. And slowing down the engine so they don't cross the line at the strike helps? On top of that, why is Cody the only one who notices it?

You can't state that he's smarter then everyone else, because then Bailey would notice too? Now that aside I liked the episode, sweat and funny. As are all Groundhogs day plots are.moreless
  • While the S.S Tipton is passing the International Dateline, Cody relives the same day over and over again. He takes this to his advantage to tell Bailey how he really feels about her. Audiences find out that he is in love with Bailey for the first time.moreless

Now this episode was really hillarious and cute at the same time. It was glad to see that Cody has feelings for Bailey in this episode. It was the episode that I was sure that they were going to last. And look at what happens in season two? They are still together, and couldn't be happier. This episode takes place on the cruise around the International Dateline. When they cross the ship will get hit by the lightning causing the gang and Cody to relive the same day. Of course Cody is the only one who truly remembers it. It's the nigth of the school dance as well. And he wants to tell Bailey exactly how he feels. The first time, Bailey eats bad shrimp and throws up. The second time he relives this dance, she is dancing with another guy because Cody is stuck with London's dress problem. The third time he relives this dance they are about to kiss and they pass through the Dateline causing them to relive the same day again! Cody stops it by dropping the draw bridge. But when he returns to the dance Bailey is dancing with the same guy from night two. But things end in disaster when Zack feeds him the bad shrimp and he throws up on Bailey. Cody and Zack laugh at that fact and Cody's smile tells it all. He had a confident smile in the end of this episode. Confident in kowning that he would earn his way into Bailey's heart. But there was going to be some obstacles he has to face first. Let's hope he gets through them with ease. Good luck Cody!moreless
  • reality check ...

cody wants to get with baily but the international dateline stop him . cody then has to alter the ships direction to prevent the international dateline from restarting over and over again. although im not a cody/baily hsipper but i have to say that they would make a cute couple and that this episode is the best episode but come in second place is the flowers and chocolate episode. meanwhile zack , as usual , just slacking off whenever he likes but at least he did do something funny like becoming the dj.london is also funny but was alittle bit naive.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (7)

    • Zack's skateboard has a Stone Cold Steve Austin Championship Belt design. It has the WWE Attitude Era logo, which was banned to be used.

    • Cody's repeated day was made like this. First, he is in the classroom, where Miss Tutweiller talks about the international dateline and London comments on her bad manicure. Then, he's in Zack's room. Zack asks him about styles, and Woody comes in, burnt. At the end, he is at the school dance. First, Woody comes up to him with a joke about the horse and his doctor visit. Then, he goes up to Zack, and Zack makes his song next after Cody gives him five bucks. Mrs. Pepperman comes in and asks about the senior citizen Karate class. Finally, London comes up to him with her ripped dress.

    • In season one of TSLOZAC Maddie said she was in grade ten. In season two (although never officially mentioned), Maddie is in grade 11 (a hint would be that the twins moved up a grade and so most likely Maddie did, too). London is in her class, which puts her in grade 11. In this series London is in the same class (and grade) as the twins. There is no way that London could be in the same grade. First, the twins are not in grade 11, most likely either 9 or 10. Secondly, even if she failed a couple of times, she would not be put back to grade 10; she would be held at grade 11 until she could complete it. This is a major goof in the series.

    • In the first airing of this episode, when Cody says "Don't talk, tonight, we speak the language of dance", you can see that Bailey's bra, left breast and her cleavage can be seen. In later airings of the episode, it was covered with an extra white cloth.

    • Apparently, the shrimp that is served at the dance makes anyone who eats it throw up.

    • Mrs. Pepperman makes a second appearance. Her first appearance was in "Parrot Island". You can tell by the way she says "no" and Cody called her by her name.

    • Bailey and Woody like shrimp.

  • QUOTES (16)

    • Zack: Wolfman Zack, HOWL HOWL! This is Wolfman Zack, spinning the hits of yesterday, today, and tomorrow baby mmhh! OR! Yo Yo Yo. This is Grandmaster Zack spinning it old school with the Wheels of Steel. Oh wiki wiki wika wiki wiki oh wiki wiki MMH-HMM!!!!
Cody: Hope there's a third choice.

    • Bailey: Wow, Cody.
Cody: Don't talk. Tonight, we speak the language of dance.

    • Cody: No, I mean what happened to the dance?
Bailey: You mean the one we're having tonight?

    • (after lightning strikes the ship and the day starts over again)
Miss Tutweiller: (points to map) London, can you tell me what this is?
      London: A bad manicure?
Miss Tutweiller: No. (looks at nails) Oh, ew.
Cody: (realizes the day started over) Not again!
London: Her nails are bad everyday.

    • Woody: Hey, Cody, I was reading online that the number one thing girls look for in a guy is a sense of humor.
Cody: No, that's just what comedy writers say to feel better about themselves.

    • Miss Tutweiller: Has anyone heard of the International Dateline?
Woody: What you say to a French babe so she'll go out with you?

    • (Cody and Bailey are about to kiss, but are sent back in time to this morning's class)
Ms. Tutweiller: (points to map) London, can you tell me what this is?
      Cody: Nooooo!
Ms. Tutweiller: Not that I don't agree, Cody, but let's give her a chance anyway.

    • Zack: So, what you're saying is, we're gonna have to keep reliving this day until you get a girl to like you?
      Cody: That's right.
Zack: Boy, are we in trouble.

    • (Bailey vomits in Haggis's hat)
Bailey: I think I ate some bad shrimp.
Haggis: I think I need a new hat.

    • (Cody gives Zack a song to play at the dance)
      Zack: You are...
      (Cody gives Zack money)
Zack: ...next! You know, I'm your brother. I would have done it for nothing.
      Cody: Yeah, right.

    • Cody: I'm having the strangest sense of déjà vu.
      London: Déjà vu who?
Cody: Déjà vu. It's French for I've lived this all before.
Zack: French? I thought this was math!

    • Miss Tutweiller: Cody, you may have read ahead in the book, but I have to teach the lowest denominator.
(Zack is seen balancing a pencil on his nose)
Zack: Math? I thought this was Geography!

    • Miss Tutweiller: Addison, no more sugar. For life.

    • (Woody walks into the room after being shocked)
      Zack: What happened to you?
Woody: I don't know. I shuffled across the floor, touched the doorknob, and suddenly the room smelled like burnt baloney.

    • Zack: (about crossing the international dateline) That works for me because if tomorrow is today then today is actually yesterday, which means that yesterday's homework isn't due today, it's actually due tomorrow!
Miss Tutweiller: You didn't do your homework?
      Zack: Yet!

    • Miss Tutweiller: (points to map) London, can you tell me what this is?
      London: A bad manicure?
Miss Tutweiller: No. (looks at nails) Oh, ew.

  • NOTES (4)

    • The German episode title is "Und täglich grüsst Miss Tutweiller", meaning "And Every Day Greets Miss Tutweiller".

    • Rachael Kathryn Bell, who played Addison in this episode, also shows up in some videos in Debby Ryan's YouTube page, thedebbyryanofficial.

    • You can tell that Bailey may have some feelings for Cody. This is because she almost kisses Cody before he is sent back into time again.

    • Phill Lewis (Mr. Moseby) does not appear in this episode. This now means that Dylan and Cole Sprouse (Zack and Cody) are the only two to have appeared in every episode of both Suite Life series.

    • "Benny's" may be a reference to the real-life restaurant "Denny's".

    • Haggis

Haggis is a traditional Scottish dish, usually containing sheep gizzards minced with onion, oatmeal, suet, spices, and salt, mixed with stock, and traditionally boiled in the animal's stomach for approximately three hours.

    • D.J. Wolfman Jack

Zack tells Cody "I could be Wolfman Zack, howl howl". This is a parody name for the legendary D.J. Wolfman Jack, who is famous for howling on the radio and playing records in the 1950s and 1960s. He even played records on the 1973 movie American Graffiti.

    • Groundhog Day:

When Cody is living the same day over and over again, this is what happened on the 1993 movie Groundhog Day, where a weatherman (played by Bill Murray) relives the same day over and over again in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.
