Reptil's fantasy about a team up with Wolverine and Firestar is a parody of the 1981 series Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends, which not only introduced Firestar to the world, it was also the first cartoon series to feature Wolverine. The show typically featured Spider-Man, Iceman and Firestar as a superhero team referred to as the Spider Friends. To further the parody, Wolverine, Reptil and Firestar recreate the show's logo with Wolverine standing in for Spider-Man and Reptil replacing Iceman.
