In Bats in the Basement, Luigi is surprised to see the coffin in the basement when he and Mario come back for lunch. Mario tells Luigi that the coffin came in the morning before Luigi woke up. Luigi should've noticed the coffin after waking up, but before going out.
When Mario says "Where's the way out?", the goose moves her beak for a moment.
Why is it that Mario and Co need 100 Coins to save the Mushroom Orphanage in this episode? They already made more than enough just to build it at the end of the previous episode; therefore, they should still have some money left over from building it!
Peach: I could hock my jewels!
Mario: You already hocked them!
Peach: I could mortgage this cottage!
Luigi: You already did!
Peach: Well, you're all brilliant people! You make a suggestion!
Mario: "Come to think of it, he does sleep in all day."
Luigi: "Well, so do you, unless there's an Inspector Gadget marathon on TV!"
Mario: C'mon Luigi, let's see what this guernsey can earnsey!
Luigi: Leapin' lasagna! This room's bigger than the Brooklyn Public Library! Wow!
Koopa: Fum fee fi fo! I smell the brothers Mario!
Mario: I'll be done! A goose that's better than the U.S. mint!
Koopa: Fum fee fi faddit! You two guys have really had it!
Koopa: Fee fi fo fum! I'll lock you up, cuz you're so dumb!
Koopa: Fee fum fi foo! I'm gonna cook some Mario stew!
Mario: Hey, Koopa! I hope your big and tall shop blows up, with you in it!
Princess Toadstool seems unusually irritable in this episode. Her voices also seems to change just a bit after the first commercial break.
Minions that appear: Just the Hoopsters.
Yahooligans air date: April 5, 2004
Featured song: I Heard it Through the Beanvine (Marvin Gaye)
*NOTE* This song is a slightly altered version of the song "I Heard it Through the Grapevine". They just changed the word grape to bean. Also, this song was later replaced by instrumental versions of the songs "It's a Dog's Life" from Life's Ruff and "When the Koopas Paint the Town" from True Colors. Both episodes were from SMB3.
This episode's Plumber's Log entry: #4-4-2
Koopa alter-ego: Giant Koopa (no costume, just bigger)
Also, when Luigi makes his "Inspector Gadget" reference, a box of Nintendo Cereal System can clearly be seen on the table.
The live-action segment features some subliminal advertising for another DiC cartoon, "Inspector Gadget".
This episode marks the only appearance of Hoopster.
This episode is a parody of "Jack and the Beanstalk".
Mario and the Beanstalk:
this episode parodies to the fairy tale Jack and the Beanstalk.
