  • Calvary spy Stooges go west to defeat Longhorn Pete and his vicious rustler gang.

Buffalo Billious, Wild Bill Hiccup, and Just Plain Bill have a regular romp in the wild west in this Stooges treat. Although the trio's westerns were often hit or miss efforts, this one is pretty well spot on the whole time. The boys disguised as the bushes is my favorite part, although the crazy poker game is probably the most remembered. Passing cards with your feet is a pretty neat concept! There are a few serious causualities, but none of them are on screen, and thus can be overlooked. The wagon chase at the end is a bit long, but give it up for the meat grinder machine gun!moreless

      Larry: Oh! Oh!
Moe: What's the matter with you?
Larry: I just had four kinks in my back!
      Curly: Four kinks!
(Moe and Curly both realize that they have two aces each.)
Moe: You know, when I get kinks in the back I generally go to the desert.
      Curly: The desert?
      Moe: Yeah, desert. Oasis! Oasis!
Curly: That's nothing. I've been to the oasis twice!
      Moe: Me too!

    • Larry: (watching the poker game) I wish I could play this here game but I don't know one card from another.

    • General Muster: Noble work, my men! The president shall hear of this!
      The Stooges: No!
      General Muster: Yes.

    • Curly: (before running into the shack) I'll tell them we're not home!

    • (The Stooges have sent for the cavalry)
Moe: (needing money for gambling) How about a little credit, Pete, until our reserves get here?
Longhorn Pete: Oh, I guess you're good for 25.
Curly: Soiteny! They'll probably send more than that!
