  • Moe, Larry and Shemp are mistaken for famous lawmen, and wind up guarding a mine payroll in a haunted house.

Another weaker 1951 entry. Thsi is also one of the rare times when the Stooges pull two very different genres into one film. The western opening is typical, with a few good one-liners especially the "fragrancy" joke. There' a slight amount of archive footage from 1943's "Phoney Express" but nothing to be upset about. The barfight scenes are nothing special and aren't really that comical. The ending sequences are haunted house farce, and also aren't very funny. This short is mainly interesting because of the strange cast chioces. Don C. Harvey, Marion Martin, and Paul Campbell don't really mesh too well in their only Stooges apperances. Regular players Al Thompson, Blackie Whiteford, and Emil Sitka all have mere cameos. A weaker Stooges entry.moreless
