Curly keeps wishing and eventually gets what he wishes for each time. The Stooges end up meeting a woman who gives them food. They offer to fix her pump in return. They find out she has an oil well but she sold the deed to three men. The stooges go to get it back.moreless

When the oil squirted out of the pump and into Moe's face, Moe neglected to close his eyes, which resulted in the first aid man having to pry Moe's eyes open and clean his eyes out.
Padding can be seen on Moe's chest when the saw swings back and hits him in the stomach.
When the Stooges push the crowbar and cause it to spin, it swings around and bonks Curly and Larry in the head. Although it misses Moe, he still acts as though he had been hit.
When the Stooges first see the crook's car with the sign on it, you can see the Stooges' reflections as they run towards the car. But when the camera moves back to the Stooges, they are standing still and begin running towards the car a moment later.
You can see a wire moving the wooden door in the bottom of the wagon.
There's a spot where Larry spits a raw egg that hits Moe in the face. When the camera view's Moe's face, the egg looks more cooked, and not raw and gooey.
As the stooges use a crowbar to unscrew the water pump, the crowbar points on a downward angle, but just as they all charge for the crowbar to give it a strong push, the crowbar is perfectly horizontal.
Curly: Here I was dreaming of a nice Porsche and a roast chicken and dumplings. (Moe slaps him) What's that for?
Moe: That's for not dreaming enough for the both of us.
Moe: All you gotta do is wish for quintuplets and we're all set!
Curly: That's a cinch! We'll honeymoon in Canada!
Mr. Clipper: Hey! Give me back that deed or I'll punch you in the nose, dame or no dame!
(Curly takes off his bonnet.)
Curly: Oh! Hit a woman, would ya?
Larry: We can't stop them in these oily clothes!
Curly: Why not? The oily bird catches the worm.
(The pump begins to wheeze.)
Curly: It sounds like it's got asthma!
Larry: Isn't this is a beautiful spot?
Curly: You said it. It brings out the woodnymph in me!
Curly: Da da da da da da da da da!
Moe and Larry: A pumping we will go!
Moe: You know, if I wasn't so weak from hunger I'd bash your brains out if you had brains!
(Curly pulls a hat out of the Stooges' "new" car.)
Curly: But I didn't wish for no derby!
Moe: Never look a gift horse in the puss!
(Johnson sees Curly trying to saw through his two-man saw.)
Johnson: What do you think you're doing there?
Curly: I'm sawing a saw in half with a saw! See?
(Curly holds up the ruined saw.)
Johnson: Hey! You've ruined my saws!
Curly: Don't get excited. You can still use it for a cheeseknife.
Moe: Where'd you get the eggs?
(Larry shows him a chicken's nest.)
Larry: Right here. Made to order while you wait.
Moe: You're gonna fix that saw, you half-brother to a weasel!
Curly: Listen you! On behalf of the weasel I resent that!
Moe: If I didn't need ya, I'd exterminate ya!
Curly: Maybe there's a bear down there. I'd better get a trap!
Moe: How can there be a bear down there?
Curly: It's bearly possible.
(Moe wants Curly to wish for some food)
Curly: What will you have?
Moe: How about that roast chicken and dumpings.
Larry: And hot apple pie.
Curly: Does it have to be hot?
Moe: Why, certainly. Do you want him to catch a cold?
(After Curly gets knocked down by a saw)
Larry: Say something.
Moe: Speak to me, kid. Tell me your name so I can tell your mother.
Curly: My mother knows my name.
Curly: Don't look now, but we're about to be killed.
Running time: 18 minutes 13 seconds
This short was reworked, with stock footage, as Oil's Well That Ends Well (1958).
Benjamin Franklin: Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.
The title "Oily to Bed, Oily to Rise" is another parody of the Benjamin Franklin's "early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise," along with the previous short called "Healthy, Wealthy and Dumb."
