  • Good episode but not a good idea to launch the Tick into space, sure it's hillarious, but don't they know how stupid he is.

The Tick is part of a program to remove the CHA from the moon, caused by Chairface\'s birthday party. As he gets launched to the moon he was able to blow up the C While he was still on the moon so it blows him into space where he meets Omnipotus-eater of planets, and the Tick helps him remove a planet from his ear and they become friends as they head for Earth. Meanwhile everyone on Earth thinks the Ticks is dead, so Arthur goes through several different sidekicks for other heros. When the Tick and Omnipotus make it back to Earth, The Tick finds out he wants to eat it. It\'s funny to see Arthur go through different heros. First he becomes the sidekick of Die Flatormas, but he finds out that all he does is look at fashion magazines and go to the diner. He then sidekicks for The Human Bullet but gets to many headaches from getting shot out of a cannon all of the time. From now on the moon know says HA instead of CHAmoreless
  • The Tick faces his largest and hungriest foe ever – the all-powerful OMNIPOTUS! The Tick is forced to perform bizarre favors for the mighty Omnipotus including rubbing his feet, and dislodging stuck planetoids from his ear.moreless

    8.1
Fans of the comic book the Fantastic Four will really get a kick out of this episode. The character of Ominpotus is a very obvious parody of the Marvel Comics villain, Galactus. His dialogue is very similar to that given to Galactus by writers Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.

The Tick also finds himself burdened with the responsibility of repairing the graffiti left on the surface of the moon by Chairface Chippendale in episode 2. Not only does the Tick fail to accomplish this, but he also paves the way for Omnipotus to cause even more lunar damage.

Some folks will probably feel that this is an average episode, but comic fans will have a blast watching Omnipotus order the Tick around like a common servant.

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • When we first see Omnipotous in space, he devours the planet of The Little Prince, the title character in the famous book by Antoine De Saint Exupury.

    • Yank (the monkey from "The Tick VS Pineapple Pokopo") is present in the control room at NASA. Apparently, he's still employed with the space program, despite having already lost his genius intelligence by the end of his first episode.

  • QUOTES (6)

    • Mayor: Arthur, you may think that nothing can fill the void left in your life by the Tick's untimely departure from this world, but the city council has also commissioned for you this deluxe assortment of cheeses in a handcrafted wicker basket… You better refrigerate that after you open it.

    • Mayor: Too soon the Tick was plucked from our mitts and hurled screaming into the Heavens. What a guy. And to commemorate his great sacrifice the city council has commissioned this beautiful fiberglass resin statue to stand forever in his honor.
      (Crowd claps)
Die Fledermaus: The head is way to big.

    • The Tick: (to Omnipitous) Man, for a big guy, your feet are freaky small!

    • Arthur: Die Fledermaus, we've been at this for a week now and all we do is look at fashion magazines and hang out at the diner. Don't you ever fight crime?

    • The Tick: I've been the janitor to the apocalypse for two long months, Arthur, and it's a comin' this way!

    • The Tick: This is one small step for the Tick and one giant step for a... uh, say a little bug or maybe some guy that's been shrunk to the size of a penny.

  • NOTES (3)

  • ALLUSIONS (2)

    • After the Human Bullet flies into the wall with Arthur (as his temporary sidekick), Bullet says "I'm OK, you're OK." I'm OK, you're OK is the title of a very famous pop psychology book by Thomas A. Harris, MD.

    • Omnipotus
Omnipotus is a spoof on the Fantastic Four's villain, Galactus, who pretty much does the same thing. Also, Galactus chose The Silver Surfer as his herald, which was spoofed by the Tick being Omnipotus' janitor.
