Episode Summary

EDIT
Captain Liberty encourages Arthur to come out to his family as the superhero he really is. The only problem is, his mother and sister don't take the news very well, and admit him into a psychiatric hospital, where they supposedly turn superheroes into "normal" people. Can The Tick go on without a side-kick?moreless

Another entertaining episode of everyones favourite blue bug suited hero- the tick. this episode see's aurther tell his family that he is a super hero. After this his family send him to a mental asylum. will the tick save the day? shock horror. this is another good episode, but for some strange reason i did not enjoy it as much as i did with the other episodes i have seen so far. the humor is as usuall funny and it see the tick make friends with several toilets and we see that out hero is strange as usall. ok but laks humor of other episodesmoreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • When Arthur's dialling for help, you can clearly see he isn't actually pressing some of the buttons (missing them entirely) and yet you can hear the specific number tones.

    • Goof: Crew or equipment visible: You can see a crew member close the shower curtain.

  • QUOTES (7)

  • NOTES (1)

    • Much of this episode was reshot, due to FOX objecting to much of the humor involving the "asylum" inmates. Most of Dave Foley's footage hit the cutting room floor.

  • ALLUSIONS (2)

    • Tick: You can run, but you can't hide.

Although the saying has been incorporated with various tilts since its origin, the phrase is credited to boxer Joe Louis upon referring to his upcoming match with Billy Conn where he stated "He can run, but he can't hide."

The you part was put in place at a later stage, and Joe actually titled one of his songs "You can run, but you can't hide."

    • The episode title is a play on the film "Girl, interrupted". A movie about a bunch of women in an institution for the not so sane. It starred Angelina Jolie, Brittany Murphy and Winona Ryder, to name but a few.
