(Amy wraps up the segment on female bodyguards.)
Amy: And while there aren't any hard numbers yet, 30 years ago, female bodyguards were unheard of, now, many security teams say they have at least one female on duty. And most notably we're told the demand for women has outpaced the supply, so ladies, in this economy, if you're interested, there may be work out there for you.
Meredith: We should all sign on.
(camera jumps back to Amy, Meredith, Matt, and Savannah.)
Matt: Well, look, I think I'm surrounded by my security detail right now. This is good.
Meredith: You better watch it.
Savannah: Meredith needs a bodyguard after making fun of those shoes.
Meredith: Exactly.
(John Isner on the Today show on the third day of playing in the longest tennis match in history.)
John Isner: I'm a little haggard, I'd like to say, obviously. I think I only slept like six hours last night. The sun came beaming in at 4am here, so the body's not feeling great. (looking down briefly) I have no skin on either one of my pinky toes. It's been tough out there, but hopefully I can come out there today and get it done.
(Savannah Guthrie at the news desk reporting on the US winning its World Cup match.)
Savannah: On Wednesday, Landon Donovan scored late in the game to gave the U.S. a dramatic 1-0 win over Algeria. Some are calling it the 'Miracle on Grass'. It's now 7:16, back to Meredith and Matt. And Matt, I thought that's what you called your golf game?
Matt: Well, thank you.
Meredith: No, no, that's what Matt called his college years.
(Everyone laughs.)
Meredith: Miracle on grass, if I remember correctly.
Matt: See, the problem is I don't remember correctly.
Savannah: Meredith said that.
Meredith: Meanwhile, Savannah and I, we are ready to take over for those tennis players in Wimbledon. If they can't handle it, we got our whites on.
(Meredith and Savannah are both wearing white blouses.)
Savannah: I think we all did a good job of color coordinating today.
Meredith: Oh yeah, Matt, you did as well. (Matt is wearing a tan jacket with white colored shirt and brown tie.)
Matt: Very nice, so it's gonna be 95 out there at the same time and we're doing Al's job for him, as he made his way to Memphis, Tennessee. Day 4 of his Lend a Hand Today tour. Mr. Roker, good morning.
Meredith: Hey, Al.
Al: Hey good morning, Matt, Meredith. Savannah Guthrie bringing the thunder!
